Settings

Locations- Dance studio, country setting, street, and a bedroom setting with low key lighting.

Time and date- (these times may fluctuate due to actor availability and the weather)Summer holidays- we will have a large period of time in order to film and re-film if needed. Therefore the summer holidays will be an opportune time to film to ensure we stay within our time constraints and show good time management to ensure we don’t fall behind. First week at school- One of our actors will not be available during the summer holidays so we will need to film the scenes she features in the first week back. Early morning to early afternoon- We will be able to capture the best light meaning we will have a higher production value, we will have to ensure that we careful as we are filming during the summer holidays which may mean high heats so we will need to check the weather forecast beforehand to ensure our actors and equipment is protected.

Actors

Who?-Bethany Baker (main character and singer), Abbie Buckland (main character’s friend and dancer), Seren Devine (younger version of Abbie), Macey Maxwell (Younger version of Bethany).

Costume- For the dance scenes Abbie will wear a white costume to represent innocence and could also have connotations of an angel to enforce the idea of ambiguity. Bethany will wear pink to reflect childhood which links to the message of memories. For other scenes Bethany normal, everyday clothes. The two younger children will wear pretty, floral dresses to show that they are younger that the other characters.

Hair and Make-up-The character will have predominantly natural hair and makeup to work with the settings and portray the idea of normality, so that the video is more relatable for our target audience. The two younger girls will have similar hair to the older to, to represent the idea they are the younger version, so if Abbie was to have her hair up, Seren would to, even if in a different style, this is a debatable idea and something which is subject to change and interpretation when filming the scenes.

Availability- Abbie is away for the summer holidays to we will need to film the scenes that she is in when she gets back from her holiday meaning this will be in the first week of term 1. As both Seren and Macey are related to Sara, they will be available whenever she is, meaning that we have more opportunities to film and have less reliance on actors. Harriett is away for one of the weeks, so we will not be able to film then, this will shorten our time, but if we do need to re-film anything we can do, when she is back. This may change due to family commitments ect… but this is a rough plan which we intend to stick to as much as possible.

PropsA key- The key symbolises a memory being brought back to life and will be used at the beginning of the music video when our main character winds up the character played by Abbie as if she is a ballerina in a music box.

Trinket/ jewellery box- This will be a reoccurring prop throughout the video to create narrative continuity to enforce the idea of a natural setting and an on-going and progressive narrative.

Photographs-The photographs symbolise the memories and the idea that the main character, our artist, Bethany, is bringing the memories back to life, this prop being shown in three scenes, thus being another reoccurring prop which creates narrative links and creates the idea that the memories are being brought back to life.

EquipmentThe camera we will be using is the Nikon D3000, a DSLR camera which will ensure our footage is of high quality, which therefore increases theproduction value.

This is a sun protector external lenswhich will protect our camera fromsun glare so that our footage doesn’t become over exposed and thereforenot fitting our themes and ideas.

This is a tripod specifically made for a Nikon camera, thiswill ensure our footage is steadyand not shaky, so the video runs smoothly creating a better audience experience.

This is a UV lens, which will protectthe camera lens from sun damageand ensure there are no equipment breakages.
