The Obituary“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born,And a time to die . . .”

- Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

qAMELIA “CAL” STEWART, was born August 5, 1945 to the late William Henry Stewart, Sr. and Willie Mae Stewart. She was the oldest of nine children. She was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, where she was educated in the schools of Richmond County. She attended C.T. Walker Elementary School, A.R. Johnson Junior High School, and a 1963 graduate of the Lucy Craft Laney High School. After graduation, she embraced cosmetology school in order to help her mother with her younger sisters.

Cal was a dedicated mother to her two sons and grandson. She was the down-to-earth and cool neighborhood mother, known to them as “Momma Cal”. She was very popular and in great demand for her famous hash, macaroni and cheese and homemade dressing. Cal would try and tell stories the way they were told to her, but would always end up saying the wrong names or tell the story in the wrong way . . . believe it or not, this inspired people to want to be in her presence because she was funny.

Cal loved God, family and her friends. Her hobbies were cooking, dancing, laughing and socializing. She transitioned from this life on Monday, April 4, 2016.

Two of her siblings preceded her in death, Johnny Stewart and Tony Amos Stewart.

Amelia “Cal” Stewart leaves precious memories to: her beloved sons, daughter-in-law and future daughter-in-law, Willie Eugene (Yolanda) Stewart, Ronald Brazzle (Teresha McGriff); grandson, Juwuan “Jay” Stewart; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, William Henry (Blondie) Stewart, Jr. and Leon (Barbara) Stewart; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Amanda “Manda Mae” Stewart, Willie Maud Stewart, Henrietta S. (Malcolm) Hall and Alethea “Cookie” Levi, all of Augusta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
