Continuous Improvement Through Engagement – CITE Teams

St. Matthews, SC, is one of 118 Continuous Improvement Through Engagement (CITE) teams — the latest program initiated at the headquarters level for Q4 (recognition or praise). CITE teams must have three consecutive Postal Pulse grand mean improvements of +.20 or more to be recognized for their commitment to improving the overall workplace. As you can see, St. Matthews’ strengths and opportunities within each survey had changed, and the ability to adapt and respond to the needs of employees showed in the next results. Engagement is not a one-time event; it is a process that requires daily interactions and attention.

What is 26,450 Hours of Sick Leave (Chats) Worth?

Since 2016, more than 47,000 managers and supervisors have taken the “Creating an Engaging Workplace” course, which teaches many ways to create engagement in their workplaces and communities. If you are celebrating engagement in your office or operation, we would like to hear from you. Send photos, names and stories to [email protected].

Chatsworth, CA, Officer in Charge Clarissa Bognot (center) recognized employees for their contributions to employee availability, one of the national performance indicators for attendance, totaling 26,450 sick leave hours earned. For the 34 employees who answered Q4, recognition, on the survey, the change of +.63 in grand mean for that element is a clear indication that they appreciate Bognot’s efforts to create an engaging workplace. Another way to measure engagement is the overall grand mean, which improved from 3.15 to 3.46. Great job, Chatsworth. Stay engaged.

Then and Now

It’s Time for the Seventh (Inning) Page Stretch!

Lomita and Harbor City, CA, employees recently attended a Los Angeles Dodgers game off the clock. Lomita Customer Services Supervisor Aura Munoz said, “We like to encourage our employees to go out, have group dinners, go bowling, have fun and create good friendships.” Although the welcome sign says “and Friends,” fostering relationships and building trusts aligns with Q10 “I have best friend at work” — and maybe next game, the scoreboard will say: “Welcome Lomita Post Office and Best Friends at Work.”
