VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT

To become an excellent Centre for technical education and research in the field of Mechanical

Engineering and to meet the societal, regional, national and global challenges.

M1 : To Impart quality technical education and there by transforming the budding engineers

into effective and responsible engineers who can work with the current technologies in multi-

cultural and multi-discipline environment.

M2: To encourage the students to develop their creativity in the field of mechanical

engineering by providing them modern laboratory facilities with hands on training and

contemporary curriculum.

M3 : To develop the interaction with the industry experts to gain practical knowledge .

M4 : To provide best teaching & learning practices as well as creating opportunities for

Research , maximize student results and placements.

M5 : To inculcate and promote life long learning skills, problem solving skills leadership

qualities and team work.

MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

It gives me an immense pleasure to congratulate Mechanical

Engineering Newsletter committee for releasing this issue of our

Department Newsletter.

ME ASSOCIATION

The mechanical association is a good platform to interact with all years

of students. The events conducted in the association gives extra

knowledge about the mechanical updates. The mechanical association

is a team work in which it consists of a secretary, two joint secretaries

and body members .The events conducted are regulated by all the

people in association and finalised .The winners of the each event will

be noted separately and they were praised and certified in the

valedictory function every year .

The mechanical association arranges guest lectures which makes

students to directly interact with the industrial experts. The career

development ideas and company requirements of different companies

will explained and many doubts of the students will be cleared in this

platform .The mechanical association plays an important role in

improving the technical and soft skills of every student.

SEMINAR ON STARTUPS

PLACEMENT TRAINING

NSS ACTIVITIES

Campus placements play a major role in shaping up the carrier

goals of students. It is the dream of every engineering student to get

placed in a top organization visiting their campus for recruitment.

Recruiters visiting engineering colleges seek for candidates who are

ready for the industry and have the etiquettes necessary for the

corporate world.

During campus placements recruiters test for an array of skill sets in

their potential employees. In addition to being knowledgeable in

their core subjects, students should also possess great aptitude,

reasoning and soft skills.

The placement training programme helps students to enhance their

employability skills.

Startups is an entrepreneurial venture which is typically a newly

emerged, fast growing business that aims to meet a market place

need by developing an innovative product or service. In this seminar

DR. P.SRIHARI REDDY gave an idea how to start a company and

different ways of raising the funds .

When you don’t know where to start the basic needs are:

• See what is missing in the world more importantly what is missing

in your life.

• Write it down

• Make a prototype

• Show the prototype to 100 people

• Register your business

• Look for funding

• Launch

• Follow up with users

• Launch again and grow.

The NSS unit of NBKRIST has 120 active volunteers. The unit

conducts many activities every year. The major activities are blood

donation, clean & green and medical camps. Camp organized in this

quarter is given below.

A special camp was done in the adopted village

Chandrasekhara puram for a weak. The students spent a weak in the

village. The Village was cleaned by our volunteers and planted 100

saplings. A medical camp was also conducted. The villagers were

given some awareness on seasonal diseases and cleanliness.

Students taken the lead and educated the children and explained

about the consequences to be faced in the near future with the child

labor.

PLACEMENT DRIVES

Placement drives or the campus interview is the program conducted

within educational institutions to provide jobs to students pursuing or in

the stage of completing the programme. In this programme industries

visit the colleges to select students depending on their ability to work

and their capability.

The major objective of campus placement is to identify the talented

and qualified professionals before they complete their education. This

procedure reduces the time for an industry to pick the candidates

according to their need. companies like Hyundai Motors, Cruseline,

Sutherland, Indus towers, Techno eye vision etc. visited our campus

to recruit the students and some of our students were recruited in the

companiescruiseline,southernland,techniovision,induspower,Hyuundai,

adoritec, systrainfotech and YashTechnologies.

Company Requirements

Every company will have some requirements. While applying for a job in Cruiseline, cruise employers consider the age, English skills, and

background of the applicant. The minimum age of the applicants to work in cruiseline and agencies is 21 and there is no maximum age limit.

Cruiseline requires the applicant to be able to speak and understand English fluently. Your level of English comprehension will be evident by the

way you have written your resume and how you communicate.

The engine department offers jobs for chief engineer, staff engineer, 1st,2ndand 3rd,engineer positions. The chief engineer

is responsible for the whole operations of the vessel including mechanical electrical and divisions. The staff engineer is the second in charge and

second highest ranking officer. The staff engineer must fully conversant with all the chief engineers functions and be able to assume his/her

duties. The first engineer is responsible for daily maintenance and operations of the engineering and technical aspects of the vessel as directed

by chief engineer and staff engineer. The second engineer acts as engine watch officer in the engine control room overseeing the operation,

maintenance. The third engineer is assigned to engine control room watch duties and he need excellent verbal and written command on the

English language.

Ford makes Edge its European flagship :

Ford has worked hard to bring the European Edge's noise, vibration and

harshness levels more in line with what premium customers expect. All Edge

models come with noise cancelling technology that makes the cabin quieter.

Ford offers the same technology on the upscale Vignale version of the Mondeo

midsize sedan.

Fast facts:-

What's good: Quiet, spacious and among the best in its class for driving

dynamics. It also looks good.

What's bad: Poor fuel economy and high CO2 emissions.

Launch date: May

Base price: 29,995 pounds (UK)

Where built: Oakville, Canada

Lowest CO2 emissions: 149g/km

The Vignale version of the Ford Edge has a hexagon

grille (shown) to differentiate it from the regular Edge.
