Coaches PhilosophyAs coaches, we promise to challenge our players to their maximum potential in practice and in games. We believe players learn more from winning or losing by a few points to a great team rather than trouncing a less competitive team by thirty. Good sportsmanship is mandatory on all occasions. Our focus is on personal improvement, game knowledge, decision making, and team play in a competitive environment with quality coaching and support. It should be understood, no player is guaranteed playing time simply being on the team. All positions and playing time are earned by a players hard work and skill set and are determined by game situation. Impact Elite Basketball Organization is dedicated to providing all athletes with the opportunity to work hard with intense fundamental disciplined instruction. Impact focuses on basic core fundamental drills and transition into high intensity game-like drills. Our goal will be to prepare our athletes for the next level of competition such as D I, II, III and NAIA programs. Impact Elite is dedicated to training the committed athlete so that they are performing at their highest skill level possible. This takes great discipline, mental focus and consistency from the athlete. Impact Elite Basketball Organization provides a place for athletes to receive complete basketball instruction

“Sometimes a player’s greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team” Scottie Pippen

Financial Commitment:

The source of funds that Impact Elite has is you, our parent members, and fund raising events. The team depends upon your prompt payments to fund its activities for all players. Through your payments of player fees and your participation in the organization/publicizing events, you make Impact Elite possible for your child.

It should be understood, player fees must be paid in a timely fashion as these allow the team to function and pay tournament fees on time if not ahead of time for any additional discounts. In the event parents or players need to make payments versus paying the full balance in one payment, a written mutually agreed plan can be provided.

Financial Breakdown:

$350-800 total player fees: ($150 Registration package; $500(5-7th),$800(HS) tournament entry fees; $1000 gym rental fees, $ 100 Regional Teams for July Live Period, $50 5th-7th Graders for Nationals).

All payments must be paid in full by due date or else player will not be allow to attend tournaments.

We do not expect player fees alone to cover all of our expenses. We expect parents, and players to participate in team and program fundraisers to help raise additional funds.

Fundraising:

Impact Elite strives to be successful with team fundraising activities, which in turn will help our players fees remain at a minimum for entry fees, snacks, etc. Fundraising activities are generally ambitious and will require a tremendous amount of help from our families to make them successful. Such events include Pancake Breakfast, U-Swirl yogurt day, selling cookie dough, Car Washes, Plate lunches, and bake sales. Your participation is required for all activities in order to meet Team fundraising goals.

Players Code of Conduct

PLAYING TIME IS BASED ON YOUR PERFORMANCE AT PRACTICE. PLAYING TIME IS NOT GUARANTEED. PLAYERS WILL HUSLTE IN PRACTICE AND IN GAMES PERIOD!!! PARENTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO WATCH PRACTICE, HOWEVER, LEAVE THE COACHING TO THE COACHES.

Practices for most teams will be two to three times per week. Practices normally last for 2 hours.

You will receive a monthly practice schedule from your Team Manager. We will make every effort not to change monthly schedules, however, things happen! Please be flexible and cooperative.

If a player must miss a practice, the player must call/text their coach as soon as possible.

Athletes who miss practices, are missing valuable information and training time, and potentially their playing time may be affected by consistent absences or tardiness.

To emphasize player responsibility, we do not want parents to call on behalf of their daughter. It is the player’s responsibility!

No jewelry, hair clips, or piercings are to be worn at practice. Please remove these items prior to arriving at the gym. . Players need to be at practice 15 minutes early. Use this time to prepare yourself for practice (change your shoes, get your water, use the

restroom). Any player arriving late to practice will run 3 laps before joining practice.

When playing games locally, please arrive one hour early for last minute game walk troughs. You the player determines your playing time!!!

Playing time may be reduced, not as punishment, but to recognize that student-athletes who attend are physically and mentally prepared to play.

2016 Impact Elite Player ContractAs a player, you have a significant role in the success and growth of your team and yourself. By initialing after each item and signing below, you are agreeing to uphold the following standards and rules:

1. Take pride in yourself, what you stand for and whom you represent at all times, on and off the court. You are now apart of Impact Elite Organization! Your choices reflect back onto our organization. ____

2. I will always work hard to improve myself and my teammates. _____3. I will never question the official’s call – I will respect the game and the officials

at all times. ___4. Always expect good things to happen. Have a positive attitude in practice and

games. _____5. Always hustle. No championship was ever achieved by playing at half speed!

______6. Treat your parents, coaches, teammates and opponents with respect at all

times. ____7. Always maintain a positive, open mind toward your coaches. They have you

and your team’s best interest in mind. _____8. Use your voice (talk to your coach), when you don’t understand about playing

time, skill development, starting roles, or any other concerns you have about yourself and your role on the team. Your parents will not fight your battles for you. This is an important skill for you to learn, both on the basketball court and in life. Competition between yourself and others will make you and your entire team better! ______

9. Don’t ever give less than your best at practices or games. You and your teammates will not improve to your highest potential if you “take it easy” or “go at half speed” during practices or games. ____

10.Remember, there is always someone out there who is practicing her skills when you are taking a break. If you want to be the best, then you must practice on your own. You are the only one who puts limits on yourself when it comes to your development of individual skills. Therefore, I will spend extra time working on my weaknesses so I can become a better player. _____

11.Have fun. Make new friends. Challenge yourself to become the best you can be. Encourage your teammates when they are feeling down. They will do the same for you when you need it! I will be a positive role model for my teammates at all times. ______

12. I will attend all practices and games. If I cannot do so, then I will inform my head coach by email, phone or text BEFORE the practice or game. This is YOUR responsibility, not your parents! ____

13.I understand that if I do not uphold any of the above rules, then I will have consequences such as probation or termination from the team. ______

Extra Workouts:

We cannot expect to be the best, without putting in extra time outside of the gym. Parents we ask that you help your child stay committed to the process of becoming the best by putting in the extra time at home:

100 - made shots a day

50 – reps. of dribbling back and forth (running with the ball/head up)

30 – reps. of dribbling between your legs (right then left)

This will make a difference and will show up in practice if you are not completing these tasks at home. We don’t want to take up all of our practice time with working on the basis.

“The difference between an extraordinary player and an ordinary player is that little extra” Michael Burks

2016 Impact Elite Parent Contract

The parents of our players have a significant role in the success and growth of our program. By initialing each item and signing below, you are agreeing to uphold the following standards and rules:

1. Make sure your child attends all practices and games. Inform the Head Coach about any missed practices and games before they occur. Your player will receive sanctions for not following this rule. _____

2. Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every practice or game. _____

3. Place the emotional and physical well being of your child ahead of any personal desire to win. A single game is not worth damaging the self esteem of your player. ____

4. Report any significant injuries immediately to the Head Coach. An Injury Report Form must be filled out and turned into the Administration. _____

5. Remember that this organization is for young players to improve their skills, not for adults to live out their dreams through their children. ____

6. Do your best to assist the team with all associated activities, car pools, fundraisers, etc. _____7. Allow 24 hours to pass from the END of a tournament to discuss any negative issues

with your coach. This allows a cooling down period and does not interfere with the coach’s ability to prepare for the next game during a tournament. _____

8. Allow your player to learn to use her voice when it comes to playing time or skill development questions for her coach. This will allow her to develop the necessary skills she will need to learn to speak up for herself as she matures into an adult. Don’t fight her battles for her. Competition teaches many lifelong lessons both on and off the court. _____

9. Refrain from negative comments or actions when in the stands at games. You also represent the Impact Elite organization and we pride ourselves on our positive, encouraging atmosphere for our players, coaches AND players from other organizations. Be a positive role model! ___

10. Make sure your guests understand, and follow, the Impact Elite Parent Contract rules. The general public, officials and our opponents will see them as members of the organization just like you. ______

11. Allow the coach for your team to coach your player and the others players on the team. Coaching from the stands is very distracting for the players, and unfair to them to have to choose between listening to their coach and listening to their parent. Remember, you cannot correct every mistake in a game. Development takes time, practice and patience. Encourage, do not criticize. They will develop faster if they are not afraid to make mistakes. ______

12. Make sure that all social media comments and photos are positive. You will reflect negatively back on the organization if you post negative comments or photos. I agree to uphold this rule. ___________

TOURNAMENT TEAM RULES

Tournaments:

Tournaments will be played throughout the Waco, San Antonio, DFW areas on weekends, both Saturday and Sunday. In some instances, we may be asked to play on Fridays. This is not the norm and may occur only once or twice.

Parents will be asked to provide transportation to and from tournament sites for their children, unless other arrangements are made with other parents. We believe that parents should attend as many tournaments as possible to support their children and the teams. We realize this is not always possible and we will work with parents to resolve any transportation issues that may arise.

Parents, other family members, and friends attending weekend tournaments will have tournament admission costs, food costs, and travel expenses. If tournament requires overnight lodging, parents will be required to pay their own lodging expenses. We will provide hotel information to you at a discounted rate, but it will be your responsibility to reserve the room in a timely manner to take advantage of the discounted rates. The Impact Elite program may attempt to cover some portions of lodging expenses for players through successful fundraising efforts.

Here are some important tips to remember when traveling to Tournaments.

First and foremost, it is important to remember that each player and parent is representing Lady Impact Elite Basketball when playing in local and out-of-town tournaments. Traveling with the team is an honor and must be respected.

Players are responsible for their uniforms when attending tournaments. When traveling please make sure that your basketball bag with your uniform(s), shoes and any other items (i.e. contacts, braces, knee pads, etc.) required for you to play is packed, ready to go and in your possession when you get into your mode of transportation. This means that if you are traveling by personal automobile you verify that your equipment is in the car.

Players are expected to wear appropriate clothing at all times.

Room numbers, room phone numbers are not to be given out to anyone other than your Lady Impact Elite Authorized personnel, parents or teammates.

No persons other than Lady Impact Elite’s players, coaches, or family members are permitted inside a player’s hotel room.

No player is allowed off hotel property without parent/coach/chaperone permission.

When traveling to tournaments we will attempt to travel together.

When we are traveling we would like to eat together, stay at the same hotel, and spend time together as a team. Exceptions may come into play from time to time and we understand.

Parents we understand that there will be situations that might prevent you from traveling with your player. However all players contribute to Lady Impact Elite’s success, please allow your player to attend all tournaments. All players work hard in practices and earn the right to play in all tournaments.

Lady Impact Elite Basketball program is dedicated to developing our players, not only on the court but off the court as well. We also try to provide new and unique experiences. However, when traveling for tournaments please remember that our reason for being there is to play basketball. We are there to compete, but also to have fun! The playing schedule is usually tight, if permitted we will try to see local sights and schedule free time to allow the athletes extracurricular activities.

Varsity/JV players are required to travel to both local and out-of-town tournaments with both sets of uniforms in their bag at all times. Include extra socks and personal items. Make sure to include all required uniform items and court shoes.
