Perspective

First of all, I want to commend the Division of Missions, under the leadership of our national executive minister Rev. Its efforts in reaching our brothers and neighbours not only outside of the Philippines, but also in difficult areas in our c o u n t r y , a r e characterized by a vision to see multitudes of people from every tribe, tongue and nation come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus. C L a n d M P(Cambodia) is praising God for the victories of last year. They also thank all of you for your prayers and support. “Makigalak po kayo dahil isang taon na p o a n g Y o u t h development Centre (YDC) noong November [last year] at kasama po kayong lahat sa patuloy na paglago ng gawain ditto. Ang investment ninyo po ay hindi nasayang,” says CL. Late last year, they were forced to vacate the place they were renting for the Center and find another venue. Praise God for His provision enabling the staff to prepare for the last quarter of last year, as t h e y p r a y e d ,

transitioned and made ready the place. After a long break, the YDC reopened with the students back for study. It’s hard to believe that the Center is one year now. Their ministry takes them to areas where God leads them. And they now have a ministry breakthrough among the Rugby boys.

In addition to the challenges they faced, last August, two staff members underwent surgery and two discontinued their work due to financial d i f f i c u l t i e s . Manpower and lack of finances are two main challenges they are

confronted wi th . Unfortunately their small groups were discontinued and their fellowship center was closed.

D e s p i t e t h e difficulties, they were not without hope and trust in God. Through God’s sustaining grace the students have returned and their small groups have resumed. Now, they are so happy to see some fruit of their labor through the conversion of some Buddhist and Muslim Youth to Christ. To God be the glory!

Ptra. Beth Limare (IW in Thailand) has recently returned to Thailand after 1-year of Home Assignment and is back to her full-time teaching post at Northeastern Bible Seminary (NBS). This year is Ptra. Beth’s 28th year of ministry in Thailand, 18 years doing Administrative work with NBS. Ptra. Beth thanks God for the fruit and more fruit coming out of consistent, patient and hard work of many workers in this field. Their work at NBS continues to grow. The number of students is increasing. The NBS alumni are serving in numerous places in Thailand and Laos.

Rev. Joel, Milcah Gerada & Ms. Fely Jane Narciso (IW in Thailand): Despite Thailand’s economic boom, many are still in spiritual darkness. The Geradas together with Fely Jane are seeing answers to their prayers to reach those lost in darkness. New Thai contacts have responded to Christ in faith and are growing through attendance in a Bible Study. The desire to learn English in Thailand is in demand and so the ministry team are teaching this using Bible stories and lessons. Little by little the Word of God is penetrating deep into the lives of the Thai students.

Rev. Roland & Nancy Lumawag (IW in Thailand): Nancy is making a positive influence among the w o m e n i n th e churches and in the Bible school. She meets two faculties and some students for mentoring, prayer, encouragement, and book study. Roland is also meeting with one f a c u l t y f o r accountability and mentoring. They both meet with the students every morning for devotional are in-charge with the spiritual formation of the students. Praise God for 62 i n di v id ua l s wh o accepted the Lord

that men and women are perishing and need to receive the Lord Jesus Christ in a personal manner. Otherwise, these people will spend their eternity away from God’s presence. A true missionary l eader can not fee l comfortable and can not sleep well with this spiritual truth in mind. I say perseverance, because we do recognize that many hurdles lie on our way of spreading the Gospel. We are aware that many forces are battling for the soul of everyone. Satan is not happy when people groups come to know the Lord Jesus, and so he uses many instruments in attempting to foil our efforts. But we need men and women of perseverance, because they consider these hurdles challenges instead, instances of trusting our God, and opportunities for designing strategies that make us win!

Our Need for Missionary Leaders (from page 1)

And I say character, because leaders can not be without character. It is one ingredient in our lives that we need to take care of. Without integrity of heart, a Christian cannot lead. He has no moral authority to press forward. I say this with the prayer and humility to recognize that the Lord alone sustains us in our ministry. I also say this with the prayer that those who are in the field will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to distance themselves from temptations that may lead to their ruin and downfall. The Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing (John 11: 12) and we must build on what our forefathers have done to grow God’s kingdom on earth. May our division of missions continue to expand our territories. May we find and nurture missionary leaders

who will leave us legacies to treasure and follow until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless the division of mis s ions , and the CAMACOP as a whole, of which we are a vital part.

“We need to develop key

leaders who will take on the mantle of

servanthood and commitment…”

Edmund & Laida Napila (Poland): It will be one year this month since Edmund and Laida arrived Poland. They arrived in the middle of the coldest winter for

the last 20 years last January. By God's grace they are coping and learning to be very creative with clothing to keep warm. SEND NCE, the Napila’s partner organization, helped make the family’s adjustment a lot easier. They are in the process of learning the language, connecting

with the people there and seeking opportunities for ministry .

J&CS* (Himalayas): International Ministry (IM) Workers Tourist visas in Nepal are only good for 150 days, i.e., 5 months. The J&CS acquired an internet café business for the purpose of changing their visa status from tourist to business. Business visas are good for 6 months and is 1/5 the cost of tourist visas. Let us pray that they will be able to complete the payment for the business.

Learning the Language of Love

R&MM (Mongolia) Year 2010 was another year of adventure for the R&MM family. They are currently in the process of learning the local language which is quite a challenge. “Learning the language is an act of love,” says their mentor. “Going through the trouble of l earning the l anguage demonstrates that we love the people enough to want to hear them and speak with them in their own native tongue.” In April, they end their daily classroom language lessons. God continues to give their

family opportunities to serve Him. RM serves in the leadership team at the Cornerstone Church for All

Nations (International Church) and helps to coordinate the Sunday Worship Services.

The Maraat Family

Jesus Christ. Last month 4 churches gathered for its annual Mahapawn Day (Missions Day). Thank God for the growing hearts of the churches towards supporting Missions. As a family, they are thankful that they are enjoying God’s blessing of good health, spiritual nourishment, and miraculous provision from Him. They thank the Lord also for seeing their two boys through this year’s first semester.

The Opungus, Victor & Ana (Papua New Guinea) are in the Philippines at the start of this year expecting the birth of their second child by February. Ana saw her doctor and had an ultrasound. Her blood pressure is higher than normal and she's been feeling dizzy sometimes. Her ultrasound also showed that Ana has placenta previa, a condition where the placenta is covering the passageway of the baby. This will definitely

require a C-section delivery. Pray that Ana and the baby will stay safe and healthy. Victor is translating the book of Isaiah and is on the 28th chapter now. With your prayers and the help of the LORD, he has gotten this far. He also worked with one of the guys on the book of Exodus and have gone as far as chapter 8. They thank the Lord for His provisions in answer to our prayers.

The Kairos Course is the main missions awareness, mobilization and basic training vehicle of the Missions Office. It is a 5-day, 9-session interactive course that goes back to the f oun da t ion o f missions, the Bible.

Through videos, readings, d i s c u s s i o n s , l e c t u r e s , worksheets, personal journaling, and prayer, the course underscores that we are all senders, mobilizers, welcomers, intercessors or goers in relation to world evangelization.

We praise God for the 18 Kairos Courses held and 8 Facilitators Training Courses (FTC) conducted last year. Six—hundred seventy four

participants finished the Kairos Course, and 295 for the FTC. Praise God for their encouraging response on how Kairos has blessed them and even transformed their missions perspective.

We thank God also for the 24 pastors and laymen who finished the Head Facilitators Training Course (HFTC) on October and November of last year. We have now a total 27 HF and one Course Coordinator,

Rev. James Quisquirin. Ptra. Beth Limare, one of the HFTC graduates plans to conduct Kairos in Thailand.

Last October 10, NEM-DM Rev. Quisquirin completed and is now certified as Teachers Trainer for the

Revealing His Glory (RHG) seminar. These are some comments from those who attended at the Metro Manila District Kairos last year:

“I feel that am just an ordinary believer but after attending Kairos,

my life is transformed by an extra-ordinary vision —of that of

being a world Christian.” —Ptra Phoebe Nuestro “Revolut ionary. Soul - s t irr in g. Powerful!” —Rev. Noel Manguhig “This course is excellent for outgoing missionaries. It is helpful for all CAMACOP churches.” —Rev. Dan Catural Victory in the Land of

the Rising Sun

Ptr. & Mrs. Rolando Del Rosario (Tentmaker IW in Japan): It is not easy working far from your own land. Challenges and difficulties can hinder if not stop the work altogether. The Del Rosarios thank God for the victories they are experiencing over the challenges of ministry. Ptr. Rolando is ministering to a congregation with a few nationals from Japan but most worshippers are from the Philippines. He and his wife is thankful for the prayerful support of the CAMACOP constituency.

to plan with them and help them in their leadership development program through seminars, and most of all, being there to listen to their concerns and encouraging them.

Let us therefore continue to work hard to live up to our God-given name, the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines, for the glory of God, globally.
