Buyer – Deutsch Connectors / Tyco Electronics (TE) Oceanside, CA 06/2010 to present

I am the lead MRO and indirect materials Buyer for the Oceanside Aerospace Defense and Marine (AD&M) Connector division. My responsibilities are the indirect purchases for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhead (MRO) and Capital Equipment. I also buy Chemicals, Lubricants and Petroleum to support three machine shops and 100 plus pieces of Capital Equipment. I have purchased raw materials. These include aluminum alloys, stainless steel, copper, gold and peak resins. Cost Savings were implemented with clear negotiations, a commitment to on time deliveries and improvements in inventory. In addition to the various Kaizan and buying workshops attended, I have successfully completed training in Haz Mat DOT, Ethics and Government Contracts and Effective Cost Analysis. I am the initial lead in both New Supplier Approval and New Business Opportunity. I have been trained in SAP purchasing.

Buyer / Purchasing Manager – Seal Electric, Inc. El Cajon, CA 03/06 to 05/09

I purchased all electrical materials during various phases of construction and improvements of several Commercial High Rise Buildings, Custom Homes and Multifamily Condominiums throughout San Diego County. Cost savings were driven and performance goals reached by maintaining daily and clear communication with job site Supervisors, Foremen, Project Managers and the Planning and Estimating departments. I also managed a Material handler / Delivery driver and an onsite Warehouse.

Buyer / Purchasing Manager – Jamar Electric, Inc. San Diego, CA 02/93 to 03/06

I managed the purchasing and delivery of all goods, services and commodities during construction and maintenance of over 5,000 single family residential homes. During this time I developed negotiating skills with Electrical Industry leaders such as Graybar, Panasonic, Cutler Hammer, Leviton, Broan and Nutone. I also managed two Material Handler / Delivery drivers and an onsite Warehouse.

Public Information Officer – General Dynamics Pomona, CA 4 years

I was Editor for the bi-weekly Company newspaper, The Pomona Spectrum. I created the initial startup issue as well as the writing, editing, photography, layout, printing and distribution to 7000 employees. In addition, I worked with Local and National Media outlets, writing Press Releases and coordinating News Conferences to showcase National Defense products such as the Navy Phalanx Missile Defense System, the Nasa Atlas Rocket program and Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon Jet Fighter.

Medic / Morse Code Operator – United States Army First Infantry Division 3 years served

I trained both as a Combat Medic and Morse Code Intercept Operator in the (ASA) and served with the Big Red One Infantry Division in various assignments in both the US and Europe.
