All classes are designed to challenge any skill level enabling maximum fun and mastery. Choose a four day programme or try our new Masterclass Mix It Up option. September School Holidays | 4-7 October 2016 MLC MASTERCLASS | 4 DAY PROGRAMME MLC MASTERCLASS | MIX IT UP Choose four days of one topic or design a unique combination from any of these Masterclass options to suit the number of days you would like to participate. COOKING WITH TASTE BUDDS (Suitable for 12+ Years) Chef Sophie Budd has been cooking for 20 years and has worked with some of the world’s best chefs including Jamie Oliver. Sophie has designed this Masterclass, exclusively for MLC, to be run by one of her talented chefs. Every participant’s heart and tummy will love this Masterclass. PHOTOGRAPHY Participants will have a multitude of opportunities to be exposed to the art of photography under the guidance of professional photographer, Sandy Herd. Sandy will share specialist concepts like composition, colour and design. Budding photographers will learn new and exciting skills to enhance their projects whether at home or school. MASTERCRAFTERS - ART Mastercrafters is the brain child of MLC Art Technician and renowned children’s craft book author Miya Maeda. Suitable for all artistic abilities, this Masterclass offers an array of vibrant colour-filled creativity. Our artists will be inspired by the Swan River back drop to create their very own sculptures, paintings and drawings. HIP HOP (9am-12.30pm only) Designed for all skill levels by professional dancer and choreographer, Sally Towler, these mornings will be fun and high energy. Great for improving co-ordination, confidence and flexibility. Hip Hoppers wanting to join more than one day will be catered for as the routines change daily. HIP HOP/ART COMBINATION Spend the morning dancing it out with Hip Hop and then create a masterpiece in the afternoon session of Mastercrafters. Two amazing programmes that encourage creativity, collaboration and individual learning over four days, culminating in an opportunity to present a masterpiece to parents/guardians on the final afternoon. LEGO ROBOTICS A wonderful way to incorporate technology with science and engineering. Participants are challenged to conceive, design and make their own strategically programmed robot under the guidance of ICT trainer Lucinda Hill. This course develops their creative and lateral thinking, programming and problem solving skills and so much more. COOKING WITH TASTE BUDDS (Suitable for 12+ Years)

Chef Sophie Budd has been cooking for 20 years and has worked with some of the world’s best chefs including Jamie Oliver. Sophie has designed this Masterclass, exclusively for MLC, to be run by one of her talented chefs. Every participant’s heart and tummy will love this Masterclass.

Photography YOUR NAME AS PHOTO ARTLearn the secrets of composition and how to ‘see the unusual’ in usual places. Students will search the college grounds looking for letters of the alphabet in nature to create their own unique name piece.

SUNPRINTS - PHOTOGRAMSLearn about photography the old fashioned way. Bring along some cool objects or use the ones supplied to block out light and make interesting shapes on your fascinating sunprints.

SMALL PLANET PHOTOGRAPHYLearn about composition and the principles of panoramic photography. Our budding photographers will also learn how to create a panoramic image in Photoshop with their final small planet printed in full colour onto A3 paper.

PHOTO GRID ARTDECONSTRUCTED IMAGES Learn about photography, colour, composition and grouping then search the college grounds putting new learnings into practice. The result will be an artwork based on grids. Students will create an interesting and beautiful abstract artwork.

Hip Hop(9am-12.30pm only)

Learn exciting new choreography styled to cool tracks and enjoy the challenge of “Just Dance” as you catch your breath for the next routine. Parents will be invited to enjoy a concert from 12.15pm each day.

CERAMIC MONEY BOXESCreate a personalised clay money box, using pinch pots and decorating with flair.

PM FREE FORM PAINTINGCreate a reverse painting. Paint on a clear surface, and work from back to front. Explore colour and design, painting techniques and finally transfer the ideas onto the special painting surface.

AM FANTASTIC FOSSILS Create your own prehistoric dinosaur fossil using twigs papier mâché and painting techniques to create the ancient look of a true prehistoric fossil.

PM PORTRAIT IMAGE TRANSFER In this project we will begin by taking some portrait photos and then manipulate the images on the computer. We will then use an acrylic gel medium to transfer your image to your own abstract painted background.

AM SOLAR POWERED DIORAMA Create your own tiny luminescent landscape. This diorama will have the extra fun feature of its own light source coming from a solar garden light.

PMSTAINED GLASS DESIGNS Explore the world of transparent colour to create some vibrant stained glass crafts.

AM MARVELLOUS MIRRORS Transform a mirror into a glamorous golden delight. Using sculpture and papier mâché with painting techniques to give a beautiful gilded finish. PM SELF PORTRAITSIn this project we will explore the whole world of you! Create some incredible self-portraits in a variety of styles and mediums.
