ADMINISTRATION NEWS by Jayson Kocka, Elementary Principal
Greetings Raider Nation!
It absolutely amazes me that we are halfway through our
school year! As I sit back and reflect on the first half of the school
year, three things continue to pop into my head.
1. We have great students and families here in Raider Nation
that make every day an absolute joy and privilege.
2. We have a great staff that works tirelessly to provide a
nurturing, caring and top notch education for our students.
3. What a difference being under one roof and in one location
has made for everyone on a daily basis.
Kindergarten Registration for 2019-2020

held Monday, March 4th and Tuesday, March 5th. Mrs. Theurer has

sheet. If you haven't received a letter, please call the school (749-

our incoming kindergarteners into our school and getting to know
them better!

188th ARMY BAND ENTERTAINS On January 10th, the 188th Army Band performed for our K-6th grade students. The musicians
entertained us with various rock and pop music including selections like "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars, and "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. The band's energy got everyone up and dancing. For many of the students it was their first experience at a live concert and what a great experience it was!
K-6 students enjoyed the rock and pop music
of the 188th Army Band.

SADD is hosting Snow Week Monday, February 4th through Friday, February 8th. Each day of the week different events will be held to raise money for “Project Ignite Light” (http://www.ignitelight.org). Friday, February 8th, students in grade 7-12 will be attending snow day activities.
SADD is also working with students in grades 4-6 teaching “Reality Check” lessons. These lessons include many topics including self-esteem, healthy choices and media awareness. The “Pillars of Character” is also being taught to third grade students by another group of SADD students.
You will see SADD students out and about selling Yankee Candles. The money raised from the candle sales will help to fund their SADD conference trip. Support SADD!
SADD students teach “Reality Check” to grades 4-6.
Elementary Student Council By Heather Mitzel, Elementary Counselor
The elementary Student Council traveled to Fargo last week to shop for residents of the YWCA.
The shelter expressed a need for Valentine’s Day supplies for the children. Typically, the children staying at the shelter are unable to participate in Valentine’s Day festivities at school because they don’t have anything to pass out to the class or a box.
We had so much fun gathering Valentines, Valentine’s box materials and candy so these kids could have the opportunity to participate! Student Council members got to talk to the shelter services director and learn all about what the shelter provides for the women and children that stay there.
The Student Council collected the dollars for this project through the sale of candy cane grams and a pajama day fundraiser.
