Credit for Tools
You can receive credit for tools (resume, brand graph, etc.) only if you turn them in during class periods. Do not expect to email them to me and receive credit for them. The only time you will be allowed to submit tools either after the deadline or via email (or any other method other than in-class) will be with a written, approved excuse.

Credit for Attendance
Attendance will be taken during some class periods. This counts for 25 percent of your grade. I emphasize coming to class because so much information not contained in your textbook is presented in class. Please be there.

Class Communication
The MMC 3990 course syllabus and information is available online on your Blackboard. All information communicated regarding the internship course will be delivered via email and placed under “Announcement” on Blackboard. For this reason, it is important to have a viable email address. If your email inbox is full or not accepting course informational emails at any point during the semester it is solely your responsibility to meet all internship deadlines and follow-up as needed.

That’s not enough? Here’s some other reasons
• An internship gives a student an opportunity to “try out” a job or a profession before taking a permanent position.
• Students who complete internships may receive higher salaries when they are hired.
• Students gain valuable practical experience about a particular job and/or the work world in general.
• Students make important contacts and have an opportunity to network with professionals.
• Employers like to hire students who have completed internships because it may increase job retention.
• Finally, many internships are fun – and great self-confidence builders.
