Welcome to PLAST 2015!Every three years, PLAST comes back to the international stage always renewed, as the most im-
portant exhibition in Europe in 2015 for plastics and rubber.
Thanks to the extraordinary coincidence with the worldwide EXPO in Milan, thousands of pro-
fessional operators, coming from all over the world, are expected to visit the next edition,
taking advantage of concrete incentives for their trip to Italy provided by official de-
legations already scheduled by the participating countries (to date 132 countries).
A must for all industry operators, both on the supply side of machinery,
equipment and moulds manufacturers, producers and distributors of
raw materials, composites and reclaimed materials, semi-finished
and finished products and specialized service providers,
as well as on the demand side, coming from plastics
and rubber processing industry operating in
several application fields.

A successful tradition, at its 17th
edition
In 2012, the flow of more than 50,000 visitors from 121 coun-
tries, in the frame of the economic downturn at that time, ex-
ceeded the expectations of most of the 1,500 exhibitors
coming from 58 countries.
More than 3,500 operating machines and equipment were
shown at the fairground, where it was also hosted the satel-
lite show RUBBER 2012 – coming back after more than
twenty years – that received widespread appreciation from
exhibitors and professional operators.
The great showcase has been improved by many innova-
tions in the sector of materials, finished and semi-finished pro-
ducts and services, as well as by many international
conferences and meetings on the most hot topics of the sec-
tor.

PLAST figures: last time exhibitors...
In 2012, 1,514 exhibitors attended PLAST (828 Ita-
lian, 686 foreign; 1,043 direct and 471 through their
representatives), on a net exhibition area of 56,832
sqm.
The six halls of PLAST 2012 were fully booked
months in advance and many companies lately re-
gistered had to postpone their participation to next
edition.
78% of the exhibition space was occupied by ma-
chinery, ancillary equipment and moulds, 20% ho-
sted producers and distributors of raw materials
and processors of semi-finished and finished pro-
ducts, 2% was devoted to service providers, insti-
tutional bodies, training centers and publishers.
A great international showcase, which raised visito-
r’s interest, offering a considerable technical update
and concrete investment opportunities.

In 2012, PLAST hosted 50,593 vi-
sitors, 35% out of the total co-
ming from 121 countries.
The first 15 origin countries of
visitors were, in order: Ger-
many, France, Turkey, Swit-
zerland, Spain, Russian
Federation, Slovenia, Greece,
United Kingdom, Poland, Brazil,
Portugal, Czech Republic, Nether-
lands, Argentina.
Up to 49 countries accepted the invitation
of the organizer, coordinating official delegations of buyers visiting
PLAST, such as: Algeria, Argentina, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria,
Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador,
France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Jordan, India, Indonesia, Iran,
Kazakhstan, Kurdistan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico,
Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, United Kingdom, People's Republic
Of China, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, United States,
South Africa, Thailand, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Ve-
nezuela, Vietnam.
An extraordinary afflux from all over the world of specialized buyer who
could benefit of hundreds innovation in the sector, despite the trouble-
some economic period.

Here follow some exhibitors’ impressions, collected from various
sources, showing that the triennial exhibition in Milan contributed
to instill optimism and confidence in operators, despite the general
economic uncertainty:
Antonio Lombardi, ALPHA TECHNOLOGIES Sales Department,
interviewed during the exhibition, confirmed “many new custo-
mers and a large flow at the stand”.
Paola Annicchiarico, ARBURG Sales Department, after the exhi-
bition, thanks the Organizer for “patience and kindness for the
preparation and the good turnout of the exhibition”.
Andrea Rigliano, BANDERA Sales Director, was “quite satisfied by
the visits received at the stand, although the proximity with other
exhibition has not helped”.
Marielle Bourgeon, BILLION Marketing & Communication Mana-
ger, confirmed that “we registered in our stand 35% of visitors
from abroad and an increase in the number of French contacts”.
In its newsletter, COLINES confirmed that “despite the spreading
financial crisis, we registered a significant number of visitors,
mainly from Italy, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Eastern
Europe, thanks to the display of operating plants, unique in their
classification, at the exhibition”.
Riccardo Comerio, COMERIO
ERCOLE Managing Director,
stated: “the flow of visitors
was higher than initial expec-
tations. Good the idea of a
rubber section, in a precise
location within PLAST context.
The number of foreign visitors, though not many, was higher than
expectations considering nearby exhibitions”.
Heike Bleil, DESMA ELASTOMERTECHNIK Marketing Depar-
tment, declared that “PLAST is a very important event that, over
the years, helped to get several more customers”.
Maurizio Passalacqua, Chief Executive of ENGEL Italian Branch,
confirmed “excellent attendance; many visitors from Middle East,
Russia and Asia. All very interested. We did not sign deals last
times, this year we did. We took part in PLAST area but we also

attended RUBBER area through WACKER CHEMIE, hosting one
of our machine for liquid silicone, with tremendous success, as
can be seen from constant flow of visitors”.
Lucia Calvosa, ENI–VERSALIS Marketing Department (former
POLIMERI EUROPA), confirmed that “balancing decrease of Ita-
lian visitors with a stronger international attendance, we recorded
more new leads than previous edition”.
Ciro D'Auria by KRAIBURG GUMMIWERK stated that: “as first
time ever participation we are so satisfied that next time we
should attend with a larger space. We recorded at least 20% of
new leads, mainly Italians and sincerely I didn't expect so much,
considering the situation of the local market. Good general or-
ganization”.
"Satisfaction with the number and quality of meetings" stated by
Ulrike Weigand, KRAUSS MAFFEI-NETSTAL Sales Department.
Kenneth Doyle by MIXER confirmed that “the exhibition was very
good as we acquired new leads and strengthened existing rela-
tionships. The exhibition helped us to understand the market
needs. "
Fausto Macchi, MACCHI Managing Director, stressed “very positive
results with orders for 5 lines confirmed directly at the exhibition”.

Ferruccio Giacobbe, MAGIC MP Managing Director, said that
“We were uncertain before the show but we are now impressed
and satisfied. Though few foreign visitors, we closed open ne-
gotiations during PLAST, boosting actually shrinking portfolio or-
ders”.
Renato Moretto, MORETTO Owner, confirmed to be “quite sati-
sfied with the contacts received during the exhibition, considering
the general situation, although the Fairground should improve its
service with regard to different aspects”.
Tiziano Brenna, MOTAN COLORTRONIC Managing Director,
commented ”higher commercial vitality by foreign visitors, whom
we were not expecting in such shape, in respect to the Italian
ones. However, we also met well structured Italian companies
with international approach on foreign markets”.
Silvio Tavecchia, NEGRI BOSSI General Manager, stressed “a
good presence of Italian and foreign customers. Negotiations led
us to a good amount of orders during the exhibition, in particu-
lar from foreign visitors. We sold around 25-30 machines, a si-
gnificant result”.
Gianpiero Dosi by PARKER TECNO COMPOUNDS confirmed “a
high visitors attendance, both old and potential customers. We con-
sider the rubber section as positive and it should be proposed again”.

GLOBAL - also on behalf of the represented brand SABIC
INNOVATIVE PLASTICS - confirmed “a satisfactory number of
foreign and Italian visitors, despite the delicate economic situation”.
Eugenio Emiliani, Chief Executive of SACMI PLASTICS DIVISION,
confirmed “a relevant number of contacts, higher than last time.
Significant increase of foreign customers”.
Susanne Kohlberger, SML Marketing Department, thanked
PLAST Organizer “for the great organization of the event”.
Kanji Yago, STAR AUTOMATION Managing Director, confirmed
that “67% of visitors requested real quotations, some also turning
into orders during the exhibition”.
Roberto Sallemi, on behalf of SUMITOMO DEMAG, stressed “a
decrease in visitors but wide satisfaction with the quality of con-
tacts”.
“Positive” is the evaluation of Maurizio Mencarelli, TORNINOVA
Managing Director.
Guido Re, UNILOY MILACRON Managing Director, confirmed
“good results, despite limited expectations due to the concur-
rence with other international exhibitions”.
Elisabetta Dal Brun, PIOVAN General Manager Assistant, confir-
med “Visitors flow higher than expected, while waiting for further
developments. Good affluence from North Africa and Middle East”.
Pierluigi Sacchi, POLIVINIL ROTOMACHINERY Managing Director,
confirmed “overall good impression, thanks to great visits recei-
ved by customers coming from East Europe, Turkey, Russia and
South America”.
Giuseppe Rossi and Antonella Maruelli, POLYFILM Owners, con-
firmed – also on behalf of their represented companies, among
which KUHNE and NGR - their “general satisfaction for the exhi-
bition, proving that if you manage to be innovative and offer high
quality products and services, you can have a good turnout.
Thanks to the exhibition, we are already reaping the benefits
from new contacts”.
Matt Defosse, POLYONE Marketing and Communication Mana-
ger, confirmed that “thanks to a positive experience at the exhi-
bition, our company was able to present its materials to a key
audience and left with some good leads”.
Daniele Cerizzi, REIFENHAUSER Sales Manager, confirmed that
“our company received visits from several European and South
America countries (Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Chile), with
possible future sales”.

Technical in-depth meetingand training
PLAST is offering updates and training, thanks to an intensive
conference program, with meetings and business presentations on
topical themes for the sector.
In 2015 several side events will take place, like:
• awarding of the projects within "Plastic Technologies Award"
design contest, second edition
• the conference “Virtual modeling and additive manufacturing
(3D printing) for advanced materials”
• the convention "Innovation, safety and sustainability of food
packaging in plastic materials”.
The program of events and conferences, expecting several
institutional and company meetings of great interest, will be publi-
shed on PLAST 2015 website in January and regularly updated.

with presentations on the occasion of the most relevant dates for
our sector, including dozens of trade exhibitions, conferences,
technical seminars and meetings with Institutions, trade Associa-
tions and specialized operators.
A first class marketing mix that, in view of the next edition of
PLAST, will be further developed and strengthened, also thanks
to the exceptional synergy with EXPO 2015.
Great visibility is offered by PLAST also through a high-level press
review, with 30 issues published on the national press, 35 edi-
torials on foreign press, 45 in-depth coverage on dedicated web-
sites and 7 television and radio broadcasts.
Beside 137 ads published on technical magazines worldwide,
46 banners on dedicated websites, 10 ads on exhibition catalo-
gues, 19 ads on the press, 42 radio broadcasts and 338 com-
mercials on Italian and European networks, 15 posters on
shuttles from/to Milan airports/City centre 14 days long before
and during the show, the online exhibitors' catalogue and the of-
ficial website visited by over 100,000 individual internet users be-
fore, during and after the show.
