CMT Creative Marketing Inc. Mobile Guidelines

The Mobile communication features CMT are quick and easy to use. First and foremost, the client must be signed up ‐ with the “mobile” option in their CMT license. Clients wishing to send Mobile Campaigns will need to be allocated into a chosen Tier for monthly fee. Once that is setup, the client will be able to see the mobile features within the application. Additionally, in order to use the Short Code ‐ Delivery option, mobile credits will need to be purchased from within the CMT application. Credits cost $0.075 per message.

Important Note

Mobile phone carriers have very strict rules regarding the sending of unsolicited SMS (short message service) messages to their customers. Due to these regulations, the CMT system must guarantee each mobile phone contact has confirmed their opt in ‐ to receive your text messages through our system. If Users import lists which claim to be double opt in, ‐ CMT will still send a confirmation message to each of those contacts the very first time they are included in a campaign. The recipient contacts must confirm via reply to our SMS message before the User is allowed to deliver any further SMS messages to them. Currently, this service is only open to customers of US mobile carriers.

Sending a Mobile Campaign

• Mobile phone numbers can be imported into CMT via list import, Step 2 of the Add Contacts Wizard allows a User to create a mobile list. Mobile contacts can also be added through manual typing one by one, and via the List Builder feature.

• Once a mobile list is ready, Users can go directly to the Campaign tab. Since text messages are not branded, the actual text message is entered in the New Campaign Wizard.

o Step 1 choose the Mobile Campaign option o Step 2 type your message. CMT imposes a 160 character limit in accordance with the upper

limit of a single SMS message for most mobile phone carriers. Adding special characters to your message may cause it to fail. Best practice is to stick with letters, numbers and basic punctuation.

o Step 3 choose your mobile contact list o Step 4 choose SMS Delivery type. The SMS Credits option will provide a significantly higher

delivery rate, and will be able to provide reports for the campaign. However, the reporting for mobile campaigns is minimal in comparison to email campaigns. Most mobile carriers do not provide very much feedback relative to message delivery. There is an additional per message fee when choosing this option. Credits are purchased from within the CMT application.

The other option on this step is Email to SMS‐ ‐ for which there is no additional delivery cost. This method of delivery is not as reliable, and no reporting can be provided.
