In front of the Storchi Theatre, there is a wonderful and famous fountain in Modena.

It is called «The fountain of the two Rivers».

The two statues represent the two riversflowing not far from the city : Secchia (the woman), Panaro (the man)

THE ARCHITECT FRANCESCO VANDELLI DESIGNED IT IN A CITY AREA OF OVER TWO THOUSAND SQUARE METERS, OBTAINED BY

ACQUIRING AND DEMOLISHING SOME HOMES.

IT WAS INAUGURATED ON OCTOBER 2, 1841 , UNDER THE NAME OF «TEATHRE

MOST ILLUSTRIOUS COMMUNITY»TODAY THE THEATRE IS CALLED

«PAVAROTTI», AFTER THE FAMOUSMODENESE TENOR.
