Example of Disruptive innovation.

• Classic example is the personal computer. Prior to its introduction, mainframes and minicomputers were the prevailing products in the computing industry priced around $200,000 and required engineering experience to operate. Apple, one of the pioneers in personal computing, began selling its early computers in the late 1970s and early 1980s—but as a toy for children. At that point, the product wasn’t good enough to compete with the minicomputers, but Apple’s customers didn’t care because they couldn’t afford or use the expensive minicomputers. The inferior computer was much better than their alternative. Little by little, the innovation improved. Within a few years, the smaller, more affordable personal computer became good enough that it could do the work that previously required minicomputers. This created a huge new market and ultimately eliminated the existing industry.

Smartphones.• It wasn’t too long ago when people depended solely on landlines and snail mail to

communicate. However, over the last decade smartphones have drastically changed

the way people communicate and make purchases. According to the survey the

number of smartphones will soon outnumber people. In fact, by 2016 more than half of

the world’s mobile phone users will own a smartphone. As you can tell, smartphones

are quickly taking over as the most popular tool for communication.

• The problem with smartphones is the definition has changed over time. For example,

ten years ago the first Blackberry was described as a smartphone, whereas today it

might be described as a feature phone.

• A smart phone is essentially a computer in your pocket that does more than just calls

to the point that it can actually serve as a functional laptop or desktop replacement.

• The things we can do on an smartphone are endless, for example reading newspaper,

net banking, playing games, social networking , drawing , photography , etc.

• It has just changed the way we live . A 5inch screen which can do whatever we want

but in the begging it was criticize by many people but today it is for sure they would be

having one in their pocket.

Virtual reality artificially creates sensory experiences, which can include sight, hearing, touch, and smell.

• The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality head-mounted display developed by Oculus VR. It was initially proposed in a Kickstarter campaign, during which Oculus VR (at the time an independent company) raised US$2.5 million for the development of the product.

• So why watch videos or games when we can be a part of the game or video environment.
