MODERN Jersey Pillow

Supplies:

1/4 Yard Riley Blake Jersey Knit Fabric in Aqua (K100-20), Yellow (K100-50), Lime (K670-32), Hot Pink

(K100-70), Gray (K100-01), Black (K100-110) and Red (K100-80)

2 – 20” x 13.5” pieces of Riley Blake K100-01Gray

Fusible Knit Interfacing – about 3 yards

Printable Half Hexi Template

*All seams are ¼” unless otherwise stated.

Instructions:

1. Press the fusible knit interfacing to the wrong side of the jersey knit fabric, according to the

manufacturer’s directions.

2. Pin the Half-Hexi template through both layers of fabric and cut about 6-7 of each color.

3. It is extremely helpful to have an image drawn out before hand to keep the color order correct

as you sew. You can refer to this template for the color order or create your own.

4. Using a serger or sewing machine, sew your half hexi shapes, right sides together, aligning the

top of the first with the bottom of the second, and so on.

5. After you finish the first row, press on the right side just enough to smooth it out a little.

6. Repeat the process with the 2nd row.

7. Aligning seams as closely as possible, and checking to make sure the colors match up as shown

in diagram 2, sew the first and 2nd row together.

8. Repeat steps 4-7 until you have all of the rows formed.

9. Press the entire pillow top.

10. Carefully, measure and trim the pillow top so it forms a 20”x20” square.

11. (Optional) Press fusible knit interfacing to the wrong side of each of the Gray pillow back pieces.

12. (Optional) Serge one of the 20” ends of each of the Gray pillow back pieces.

13. Turn under one of the 20” ends of the Gray pillow back pieces about ½”. Press. Stitch.

14. With right sides together, pin one of the 20”x13.5” pieces, aligning corners and edges, and

making sure the stitched edge is near the center of the pillow.

15. Pin the 2nd pillow back piece in the same way. Both pieces will overlap in the center of the

pillow.

16. Stitch around all of the edges using a ½” seam allowance.

17. Clip corners. Turn right side out & insert pillow form.
