a fire in your stomach so hot

it sets your whole body aflame

it start off as a spark

a word, a gesture

it not that big of a deal

in the beginning

But then as the words grew more frequent

the fire increased

Slowly but steady did it make its way through my body, heart and soul

i was on fire

Because of that spark

But not the Good kind

Not the kind that made you feel all warm and cud-dly

No it was a raging fire

Burning me inside out

Scorching any kind of kindness, love and all things good that were unfortunate enough to get in its way leaving only bitterness, anger and eventually..

hate.

Because of that spark.

it wasn’t something you can see

Not something i wanted them to know

No one knew

No one knew the fire inside me

How it was slowly burning me up

How every Saturday night i cry knowing that i would have see them

listen to their taunts, insults and knowing that no one would be there to help me, defend me our da-red to be my friend because i was the outcast, the

loser.

i sat alone every Sunday morning

Not understanding how the place that was sup-posed to bring me joy was causing my pain

Because of that spark

it burned.

Because of that spark

Years went by and they went away

But the fire was still there

burning filling me up

i grew dependent on that fire

because without it i felt nothing

Empty, without purpose

Because of that spark

i lived a double life,

BECaUSE OF tHat SPaRK......a

One where i was that smart, Christian girl who was happy.

and the other one where i was angry, always an-gry.

i didn’t care about no one, including my family and friends .

i don’t trust no one nor was i interested i’m making friends

i became ambitious

Wanting to be the best

always wanting to be the best

But soon it became an obsession

i was losing control, my sanity slowly slipping away ,

the fire burning in me

always burning

Even when they were gone

there words gone with them

i was still on fire, still burning

Because of that spark

it was controlling my life

because i wouldn’t let go

i couldn’t let go

Of those horrible words and taunts

the pushes and shoves

the mocking looks

What people need to realize that

their words gave an effect on the people they direct them to

it might be funny to you but its definitely not funny to us

their words are like a spark

they can ignite the anger within

and like a forest fire

they are so hard to extinguish

so hard to forget

because it hurts so bad

all that pain

all because of that tiny Spark

all because of that one word that became more and more words

that created a fire within me,

Within us

that keeps on burning to this day

Because of that spark

Because of that word

i still hurt on the inside

Because of that spark

i was broken

an introduction of our advice columnist, Maxie

i just moved to a new city and ijust started a new school. i’m a shy person and i’m having trou-ble making friends. Can you give me tips on how to start making

friends?- Lonely Student

Well lonely student, the best way to make friends is to be yourself.i know that everyone says that but it’s true. in the beginning it might be hard but don’t give up. Don’t try to change yourself to get people to like you. Join after school clubs that interest you. there is a huge chance that you meet someone in those clubs that might have the same interests as you. and if it gets hard don’t forget that Jesus is your friend.

When i grow up i want to be a singer but my parents don’t think it’s a good ca-reer choice for me, instead they want me to be a doc-

tor. i don’t want to dissapoint thembut i ab-solutely do not want to be a doctor. What do i do?-in a dilema

there is two steps: number 1 Pray on it and number 2 talk to them. Pray to see if singing is what Jesus wants you to do. if you feel like becoming a singer is the right coice for you then go talk to your parents and tell them how you feel. Your parents want what’s best for you so don’t take it to hard. Remember at the end of the day it is your choice

Me and my BFF have been friends for years. We use to do everything together but

lately it seems like she rather hang out with other people than me. i know she has other friends but i miss hanging out wuth her all the time

- feeling left out

i think you should talk to your friend. tell him/her how you feel and they’ll probably understand. another thing is to try to make some new friends. You should’nt try to re-place your BFF but it would nice if you had some other friends to hang out out with so you don’t seem to clingy or you don’t feel as lonely. Give your friend some timeget rid of resentment, work out issues, and have an opportunity to miss you. Focus on your own life for a while and let your friend contact you.

How do you separate from bad friends without hur-ting them or making them think you’re stuck up? How

can i be a witness to my friends and still be accepted?

Pray for them a lot . don’t try to be pushy about your faith because some people mi-ght find it annoying and reject Jesus .

f you are always telling your friends that they are wrong, they aren’t going to be your friends for very long. the best thing to do is to set a good example and only give advice when you are asked. it’s up to them to deci-de how they want to live their lives. You can’t force someone to change or accept God.q.

ne of the hardest things in being a Christian teen is, believe it or not is finding

clothes that are appropriate for a Christian teens because we can’t just wear anything. in timothy 2:9 it says: in like manner also, that wo-men adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. So as a Christian teen we need to be MO-DESt.

that is the word of the day MODES-

tY.

So to try to help you out, i’ll give you guys some basic guidelines for mo-dest outfits.

the point of dressing modestly is to avoid wearing clothes that re-veal, enhance or showcase a certain body parts. Here are a few examples for girls:

Legs: avoid wearing shorts that showcase too much thigh and avoid wearing skirts that are too short. if you don’t know if it too short or not

then use the 5 fingers test. Put your arms straight on your side with your fingers splayed out. if the skirt isn’t at least the length of your fingers then chances are that the skirt is too short. this applies to dresses too.

Butt: avoid tight skirts, shorts, dres-ses and pants that reveal the shape and curve of your butt this applies to dresses too. avoid pants with words printed on the butt, since they are designed to cause people’s eyes to concentrate on your butt.

The dress code

O

Chest: avoid tops that are see-through without proper undergar-ments like a tank top. avoid tops that reveal cleavage, especially if you have a large chest.

Stomach: all tops need to cover your stomach

Back: don’t wear backless dresses or dresses that reveal most of your back because it designed to look sexy.

Now For boys:

StOP SWaGGiNG YOUR PaNtS!! and stop wearing inappropriate shirts

Now these rules might seem a bit harsh to you but you’re God’s children in God’s children need to dress modestly so go out to stores and start shopping!

We must watch

over our mo-

desty in the

presence of

those who

cannot un-

derstand its

grounds.

questions to help you put Christian principles into practice, and you’ll see how teens such as yourselves learned to rely on God during a moment of truth in their lives Discover answers to questions such as:

+ Who is God, and what does He expect of me?

+ is God with me all the time, everywhere i go?

+ Does God love me -- no matter what i have done?

3. almost Christian By Kendra DeanDean found that the most committed young Christians shared four important traits: they could tell a personal and powerful

story about God; they belonged to a community that did more than simply feed them moral maixims; they ex-hibited a sense of vocation; and they possessed a pro-found sense of hope. Based on these fin-dings, Dean propo-ses an approach to Christian education that places the idea of mission at its core

and offers a wealth of concrete suggestions for inspiring teens to live more authentically engaged Christian lives.

itting in.

Having the latest Jordans or Toms our having the best IPhone or hairstyle.

This day our generation has become obsessed with fitting in with what society deems is cool. The media feeds us information about how to look good or how to act to be considered «cool” and sadly some of it’s follow those rules because we want to fit in, nobody wants to be an outsider.

But the Bible says that we have to stand out, not fit in because the focus of a Christian teen life should be Christ not the latest trend.

Romans 12:2 says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

That means that instead if trying to fit in with of the world but instead stands out never when you accept Jesus Christ into your heart you should think differently, you should think godly things. The more you read the Bible the more you will be like him.

We need to change from what we used to be to what he wants us to be. We should always do what’s right even if they meaning the world doesn’t approve. In 1 Peter 2:12 Peter says: ha-ving your conversation honest among the Genti-les: that, whereas they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

F

Here are a few ways to stand out for God:

Acts 20:17-24 KJV: And from Mi-letus he sent to Ephesus, and cal-led the elders of the church. And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temp-tations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: And how I kept back nothing that was pro-fitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, Testi-fying both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Je-sus Christ. And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusa-lem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnessed in every city, saying that bonds and afflic-tions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have re-ceived of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Apostle Paul lived by there are simple rules and he prospered so if he can do it then why can’t you? Here are a few simple steps for standing out as Christian:

• Prayforhelp

• Set a good example toothersthroughyouimage(exam-ple your clothes, language and ac-tions)

• Never forget the impor-tance of God words (carry a Bible around and study it)

Unfortunately there will be peo-ple who try to bring you down and people will start talking about you but don’t let them bring you down instead pray for them love them and stick with God even when it get tough. Because God loves you and he wouldn’t make you go through something you couldn’t handle. Think of it as an initiation process. Moses, Joseph, David Eli, Jesus, Paul and many more went through it and prospered do why can’t you do it?

Romans 12:2 says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be trans-formed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

While tedashii’s robust stature and delivery on the mic catch the attention of most, his gentle spirit hints at an even deeper sto-ry behind the man and the mu-sic.Born in East texas, tedashii “tDot” anderson was raised to be very family-oriented, re-spectful and appreciative, but embracing the latter was often difficult in light of the econom-ic conditions his family faced. television became an escape for him as he admits to wanting a different life, “i really wanted to get away,” tedashii recalls. He envied the Huxtable lifestyle and eloquence and desired the urbanized southern version,

topped off with a candy-painted car on 26’s. His ambitions would soon mirror those he stayed up watching on television and read about in books. in high school, he joined the band to play jazz, studied black history, reveled in poetry, endeavored to become a renaissance man, and even idol-ized ted Kopple. tedashii re-members being different than his peers in his vast interests, but as expected for a texas boy, Samo-an at that, he also played foot-ball. By most standards, he was a well-rounded, good person--most, but not all. tedashii was given a wake-up call in college after being confronted by a stu-

dent who overheard him using profanity. “He told me that i was a sinner and basically shared the Gospel with me that day.” Some time later, after going to a Chris-tian event on campus and seeing hundreds of urban students au-thentically worship God, he re-ceived Jesus and found new life in Christ instead of Hollywood.

Hip Hop was never the plan,” he reveals. But with encour-agement from his peers, along with releasing his debut album Kingdom People and recogniz-ing his ability to reach people with his raw, southern style, he has since needed no motivation to continue spitting the Gospel.

With identity Crisis, tedashiii shared his past identity strug-gles, the fountain of his new identity, and challenged listen-ers to find theirs in Christ alone. His sophomore album charted No. 2 on the Gospel Billboard chart and No. 9 on the Chris-tian Billboard chart, solidifying

the appeal of a unique artist who is unashamedly Christian and soulfully Hip Hop. Since his last release, tedashii has blazed several tracks as a feature artist, and is gearing up to release his third album this spring. He has also been serving at the Village Church in Denton, tX and rais-ing his son with his lovely wife.

Far from his childhood dreams, if he had things his way, being known as someone who lived and even died for Christ would be the perfect ending to his life story.
