Modry Las was created to compete as a golf resort at the very highest levels on the international stage. Bringing in the expertise, knowledge and vision of Gary Player was the first step in this process. The next was to build a club that echoed his values. This brochure has been created to explain why Modry Las has become Poland’s most celebrated golf resort.

approach, this is a hole designed to bring out the very best in your game.

A beautiful par 3 that flirts with the

edge of a tranquil lake. This is a tee shot that will

play on your mind from the first hole onwards –

simply hitting the green and making par is an accom-

plishment. One of the most iconic holes at Modry Las.


Situated outside Choszczno in the West Pomerania region of Poland, Modry Las Golf Club was opened in 2009 to world-wide acclaim. Designed by the legendary Grand Slam-winning Gary Player, the course quickly became recognised as Poland’s most beautiful golf course and the country’s only signature design. Modry Las quickly established itself as one of the leading lights of the golf scene in Eastern Europe providing both members and visitors with an unrivalled golfing experience.

It was first selected by Golf World magazine (UK) in its top 100 European golf courses in 2009, just three months after the official opening, and has maintained its top-tier status ever since. It was also selected as a finalist for the prestigious Golf Inc 2010 Development of the Year Awards and has been named Poland’s best golf course by the country’s leading golf website. This extraordinary course over-looks two spring-fed lakes and is surrounded by oak, pine and birch forests making it a remarkable place to play golf.

A stunning hole that provides intrigue and challenge from start to finish. With an imposing bunker protecting the right-hand side of the fairway and an impressive stone-faced façade to the green, this hole epitomizes Modry Las.

Gary Player describes Modry Las as “a classy golf course carved in a beautiful, natural landscape with mature pine forests, spring-fed lakes and fields of wildflowers - an incredible setting”.

The course he designed is set in a landscape dominated by two spring-fed lakes ensuring water comes into play on most holes. It is a place of rare natural beauty with steep-faced bunkers and smooth-running greens.

A stunning par 5 with a carry over water to a gorgeous green site which is surrounded by bunkers and framed by the lake behind.

Accuracy is crucial at this classic risk-and-reward hole.

The longest hole on the course is best tackled by playing down the right-hand side of the fairway, flirting with an imposing, steep-faced bunker. The putting surface is reached by playing over a stream that bounds the front edge of an inviting green.

On the eighth, water comes into play from the outset with a lake surrounding the tee complex on this short par 4. But with a single bunker protecting the green, this approachable hole will tempt many into bold play.

One of two short par threes on the back nine, this hole plays downhill to a long, thin green surrounded by four bunkers. Club selection will be critical if a birdie is to be had here.

Playing golf at Modry Las is a real treat, like taking a nature trail through the beautiful Polish countryside. There’s not a single hole I wouldn’t love to play again and those with wonderful lakeside locations will remain long in the memory

The Modry Las clubhouse will include a spacious restaurant with a panoramic terrace overlooking the 18th green, a sports bar and lounge, extensive changing facilities and a golf boutique.

In addition, there will be 11 guest suites, a gallery and an indoor golf practice room with a state-of-the-art simulator. A team of architects from the US, Switzerland and Poland

designed the contemporary structure to incorporate all the comforts of a country lodge. Members’ lounges will offer the coziness of a roaring fire as well as exquisite views over

the tranquil Radun Lake and stunning sunsets. There will also be the option of an inti-mate private-dining room as well as a 60-cover restaurant featuring international cuisine served with Polish hospitality.

The latest raft of improvements at Modry Las will see the introduction of a tricky nine-hole short course, a specially designed golf academy and stylish, on-site self-catering accommodation. In the same spirit as Modry Las, the new nine-hole Orli Las course has been laid out to provide golfers of all standards with an opportunity to improve their game on a course that takes less than an hour to play.

To complement the short course, the Modry Las Academy provides covered teaching bays that overlook the driving range, a debriefing area, a club and equipment sales service and fully equipped club-fitting service. Visiting golfers will also enjoy all the comforts of home in the new self-catering cottages at Modry Las, each of which accommodates up to four golfers.

Modry Las Expands

Modry Las is continuing to enhance its reputation as an exceptional sports and

residential complex. The new short course, golf academy and cottages are good

examples of that commitment.

Hole 1, par 4, 440 yards,

Teeing off from a position overlooking a peaceful lake, the first is an opening hole that tests the nerves. A sweeping

right-handed dogleg that leads to a long, thin green protected by a series of banks, players will do well to walk

away with a par.

Cottages at Modry Las

In April 2013 Modry Las launched three Swiss-style self-catering cottages, each furnished and designed to the highest standards. The charming chalets are 50m² in size, contain two double bedrooms, a bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and a separate water closet. There is a fully equipped kitchen with cooking facilities that leads to a living room containing a wood-burning stove. A covered porch pro-vides the ideal place to sit, relax and enjoy the scenery. Nestling between the 8th green and the 16th fairway, the cottages comfortably

accommodate up to four guests making them the perfect golfing retreat. Beautifully designed, the cottages are tucked among delicate birches, wild ferns

and grasses which provide peace and tranquillity after a busy week and 18 holes of golf. Guests can take advantage of the outdoor grill facilities or

A good drive tees up a beautifully framed second shot to a flat green protected by a single, small tree on the right-hand side. What the green lacks in undulations, the fairway more than makes up for with a series of ridges crossing the playing surface.
