What can migrant students do to integrate themselves better?

To consider the importance of education


The migrant students have to learn and search for these things of the country that they are living in:

Culture Language Life style Religion Laws Art activity Traditions



They will join to the courses at their school and make new friendships by sport, music and such activities. Not only talk and have friendship with the people from their own country also have friendships and dialogues with the people that they arrive in.



What can migrant parents do to support a better inclusion of their children?

For better inclusion of their children, the parents must consider learning their native language because without learning their native language they can not learn the language of their country.


If it is needed for better inclusion the parents have to consider education more than the citizens of that country.



Immigrant parents need to have very good dialogues with their children.



The parents have to realize that the children are on the way of process and so not keep them under impression.



Parents must include children to the activities of sport or music clubs if any exists in living area.



Families have collaboration with own cultural association and share experiences.



What can schools do to support a better inclusion of children of

migrants? • Teachers' need to accept migrant

students such as own citizens


• Teachers should not distinguish between the students

• It is normal for the teachers to wish the integration of migrant students but it is abnormal wish them to change their racial.

• The teachers have to realize that the migrant students are on the way of process and so not keep them under impression and treat them sensitive.

• The schools can organize adaptation courses with government cooperation and encourage them to participate in this activities.

• The schools can organize several courses by itself as sports, music and give possibilities to immigrant students for having new friendships.

NEW IDEAS - NEW SOLUTIONS This study was created by the interviews

with Germany Elazığlılar Association, Selcan AKÇAY and Esma MUSLU.

As at this study, schools also can do same and determine the immigrant students needs,interests, sympathies, relationship by questionary and interviews. Than they generate new solutions.
