Choosing Your Route

What is a ROUTE?• A code used by Registry to determine

what subject(s) you are studying.AND• How much of each subject you are

studying.

• You must remain a MAJOR/MINOR student in your third year.

• DUAL– You are currently DUAL (studying two

subjects in your second year.)– You are currently studying 2 X 30 credit

modules from each subject.• You may change your route for your final

year.

How to Change your Route

• There will be a route change task through the student portal.

• If you wish to change your route you must complete the route change task.

AVAILABLE 3 TO 28 APRIL.

• After this date your route is confirmed.

Module Choice

• Once the your route has been confirmed you will be sent, via the student portal, the Module Choice Task.

MUST BE COMPLETED BETWEEN4 AND 10 MAY.

• After this date modules will be allocated subject to availability.

Choices available for Dual Students

• Remain as a DUAL student– You do not need to complete the route

change task.(Although you may wish to check the route is

correct)– You will select 2 X 30 credit modules from

each subject for study in Year 3, via the module choice task.

Changes available for Dual Students

• Switch to MAJOR/MINOR route– You MUST change your route via the route

change task.– You will select 3 X 30 credit modules from

your MAJOR subject and 1 X 30 credit module from your MINOR subject for study in Year 3, via the module choice task.

• Switch to SINGLE SUBJECT EXIT route– You MUST change your route via the route

How do you progressto Year 3

You must have• COMPLETED 4 X 30 credit modules at Level I

(Year 2) 120 credits in total.• PASSED any compulsory modules you are

taking.In addition you must have • A Grade E or above in all remaining modules.Or• only failed 1 module (which cannot be a

compulsory module) and is therefore eligible to be compensated.

New Compensation Rules

• You may only compensate a module from a Dual, Major or Single route.

• Only one module may be compensated.

• A Module may NOT BE compensated if– the module from a Minor route – the module is a compulsory module

New Compensation Rules

For a module to be eligible for compensation the following must apply.

• You must have undertaken all assessments for the failed module;

And • if the overall module grade is F+, another

module must have been awarded C or higher;OR• if the overall module is F, another module must

have been awarded B or higher

What must you do

• Make sure you complete ALL assessment for the modules you are currently studying.

• Decide on your route for next year.• If your choice requires a change of route

complete the Route Change Task on the student portal between 3 April and 24 April

• Complete the Module Choice Task on the student portal between 4 and 10 May.
