1.What is Module Specification Management (MSM)?

Module Specification Management (MSM) is used to edit and publish the module specifications by Registry, Department and Teacher.

Based on the work flow, different roles is in charge of different jobs.

Department Administrator

Assign the module specifications to teachers.

Registry Administrator

1. Create or initialize new module specification.2. Review and publish the module specifications which are submitted by teachers.3. Manage the module specification‘s status.

4. The way to use Module Specification Management

4.1 To manage the module specification (Management Interface):

Registry Administrator, Department Administrator and Teacher who have the authority to manage and update the module specifications can browse the web site of MSM system. http://EES:8085/EES/MSM

4.2 To search the published module specification (Search Interface):

All XJTLU staff and students can access http://EES:8085/EES/MSM/MS_PublishedView.aspx to search and view all published module specifications.

5. How to setup a new module specification?

5.1 Registry Administrator creates or initializes a new module specification and assigns to Department Administrator.

A. Login the system as Registry Administrator role.

B. Open the Registry Administrator management interface. (Create => Create)

C. Input the basic information of module specification, then click ‘Create’ button to create a new module specification.

D. Open the submit interface and find the module specification which should be assigned, then click ‘Submit’ button to assign to corresponding department.

5.2 Department Administrator assigns the module specification to Teacher.

A. Login the system as Department Administrator role.B. Open the Department Administrator management interface.C. Select the module coordinator, then click ’Assign’ button to assign to Teacher.

5.3 Teacher fills the own module specification.

A. Login the system as Teacher role.B. Open the Teacher management interface. (Fill | Submit => Fill & Submit)C. Find the module specification which need fill, then click ’Fill/Edit’ button to fill the content.

D. Fill or edit the content from Step01 to Step06.

Finish the steps and view the filled contents.

E. After finish the filling, click ‘Submit’ button to submit to Registry Administrator.

5.4 Registry Administrator approve or reject to publish the module specification to website.

A. Login the system as Registry Administrator role.B. Open the Registry Administrator management interface. (Publish)C. Find the module specification which should be published or not published, then click ’Publish’ or ‘Reject’ button.

All steps are finished, the new module specification is setup and published to website.

6.1 How to recall the own module specification to reedit?

6.1.1 Teacher applies a request.

A. Login the system as Teacher role.B. Open the Teacher management interface. (Fill | Submit => History)C. Find the module specification which need recall, then click ’Recall’ button to open the request interface.

D. Fill the reason and click ‘Submit’ button, then Registry Administrator will receive a request Email.

6.1.2 Registry Administrator manages the Teacher’s request.

A. Login the system as Registry Administrator role.B. Open the Registry Administrator interface. (Request Management)C. Click ‘Approve’ or ‘Reject’ button to decide to approve or not.

6.1.3 Teacher reedit the module specification.

A. Login the system as Teacher role.B. Open the Teacher management interface. (Fill | Submit => Fill & Submit)C. Find the module specification which need reedit, then click ’Fill/Edit’ button to modify the contents.D. After finish the modification, click ‘Submit’ button to submit to Registry Administrator.

6.2 How to find all module specifications which are working in process? (WIP Report)

A. Login the system as Registry Administrator, Department Administrator or Teacher role.B. Open the management interface. (WIP)C. Select task status value.

6.3 How to search all module specifications which include Published and Not Published?

A. Login the system as Registry Administrator, Department Administrator or Teacher role.B. Open the management interface. (Search)C. Input conditions value to search.

6.4 How to change the task status?A. Login the system as Registry Administrator role.B. Open the Registry Administrator interface. (Management)C. Find the module specification which need change status, then click ’Change Status’ button to open the interface.
