INTRO

MOE CLUB is based on the conceptual and structur-

al principles of MOE I, extended into a 360 degree

experience.

MOE I

MOE I is one of the products in a range of light and

video augmented modular constructions designed

and produced by Project MOE; a three-dimension-

al screen assembled out of standard polystyrene

panels with carved slots for interconnection. The

content is added trough video projection which

follows the thought pattern of a physical object;

every panel is textured separately, video textures

are generated in real time and are sound respon-

sive.

MOE I was first introduced in 2009, and soon after

was exhibited across Europe. In September 2010,

the concept was awarded at the biennial Croatian

Design exhibition “0910”.

CONCEPT

MOE CLUB is a concept for temporary and reus-

able clubbing space; a pop-up club in the shape

of floating cube which marks the area of a dance-

floor and provides an open space for the ease of

peoples movement.

The modular club is designed to be easily assem-

bled and disassembled in any needed size, with an

aim to be be easily put in a right relation with the

space and context. Its walls consist of standard

polystyrene panels with carved slots for intercon-

nection. Due to their thickness, the modules are

easy to store and transport.

The content is added trough video projection

which follows the thought pattern of a physical

object; every panel is textured separately, video

textures are generated in real time and are sound

responsive.

MOE CLB can serve for various types of events -

partys, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, fairs - both

indoors and outdoors.

TYPOLOGY

Due to its modularity, this pop-up club can be eas-

ily put in a right relation with the space and con-

text. MOE CLB grows in width and length by every 1m

so the overall dimensions can be: 12x12m, 15x15m,

20x20m… Some examples are shown below.

MOE CLB example 1

The modular club can be built in dimensions of

20x20 meters to provide an event space for up to

500 people.

MOE CLB example 2

MOE CLB in dimensions of 13x13 meters can take up

to 250 people, which is ideal for smaller, more in-

timate events.

APPLICATION

MOE CLB can serve for various types of events: par-

tys, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, fairs… The con-

tent added trough video projection gives it a site-

specific identity changed over time. For example,

MOE CLB can be used to mark various dance floors

on a festival, with an aim to visually demonstrate

the atmosphere inside each.

APPLICATION

Although it is visually quite strong, the floating

cube functions well in all kind of locations; either

to mark the event space and invite people when

outdoors, or to present a “space in a space” when

indoors.

TECH INFO

The walls of MOE CLB are designed to be easily as-

sembled and disassembled. They consist of stand-

ard polystyrene panels with carved slots for inter-

connection. Due to their thickness, the modules

are easy to store and transport.

TECH INFO

Base of the floating walls is made from standard

truss construction, most often used at events. This

type of construction enables a swift club’s build-

ing in any needed size. Upper beam of the truss

construction allows a lot of place for installing

projectors and light bodies.

ABOUT PROJECT MOE

MOE is a range of light and video augmented mod-

ular constructions that follow the same concept:

spatial multiplication of one element - the physi-

cal object and a video animation applied to it, the

adaptability to a space in size and volume, and DIY

production method. Co-existence of the physical

object and realtime generated video is achieved

with software for real-time video and graphics

(vvvv).

MOE was first introduced on Illectricity Festival

in 2009, and soon after was exhibited on vari-

ous festivals and galleries throughout Europe.

The concept was awarded at the Croatian Design

exhibition “0910”, and was published in severeal

renowned design magazines- FRAME (NL), PSFK

(USA)...

Current product range consits of: MOE I, MOE II Spa-

tial, MOE II Decibel and MOE CLB. Next product, MOE

III, will be presented in early 2013.
