Aspen Sierra Universal Collar

n The Sierra Collar was designed for cost-conscience customers that will not make the leap into the “long-term care”. The design parameters and cost considerations limited the choice of materials and manufacturing methods. An Innovative design utilizing die-cut-ting and strategic folding gave the product rigidity where needed and more importantly, features is a “One Size Fits Most” design that reduces inventory and storage requirements. This is achieved by limiting skew number of the competitor’s 26 different sizes.

U.S. Patent No.: 7,090,653 Sierra Pediatric version

PX720 Library Sysyem

n This project was managed from concept development unto final presentation. Upon meeting with the client, concept sketches were prepared and from these, eight directions were chosen and marker renderings were prepared for review. Three spe-cific directions were decided upon which were further refined, and computer models were generated to produce photo-realistic images. Once the client approved the direction, a quarter-scale presentation model was produced.

Kaarina Chair

n This project was defined as a pull-up chair, simple in form and concept, to be used within the environment of office products. The essential concept was to use three thin forms that when joined together, produced a structure of strength and rigidity. Though the concept gives the impression of stack-ability, it does not in this configuration. I assisted the initial design phase of the project from concept sketch into prototype.

DX30 Storage Array

n The project was defined as a mass storage array for the Enterprise-Class market. The design of the bezel needed to define the company image, but not be so differ-ent that it would not integrate within the server rack. The project required a subtle approach to the design. It was decided to incorporate different materials to bring distinctiveness to the product rather than by shape alone.

Xzergon Performance Tools - CSULB project

n The client wished to break from the tradition by introducing a new line of tools, which would improve manipulation and mechanical operation while expressing a new look and feel. The tools were to exhibit how a family identity would be main-tained across a wide range of products. The first portion of the project established a family of products linked together by a shared vocabulary of forms and textural elements.
