Enclosed you will find Summit Polymers EDI Implementation Guidelines which will be maintained on our website at www.summitpolymers.com. The guidelines are based on EDIFACT standards (Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport). Suppliers are required to have the capability to interface with us utilizing the following guidelines:

DELFOR - Delivery Schedule Message SPI will transmit weekly 8 week Forecast

DELJIT - Delivery Just in Time Message SPI will transmit as required

Shipping Authorization

DESADV - Despatch Advice Message Suppliers required to transmit Advanced Shipment Notifications same day as shipment.

CONTRL - Control Message Suppliers required to transmit Acknowledgement/Rejection Advice for DELFOR and DELJIT

SPI will transmit for DESADV

Summit Polymers EDI Implementation Guidelines STRUCTURE OF GUIDELINES


The guidelines include data segments and various examples. These are summaries of the entire EDIFACT message. The left column identifies when/if each segment group/segment is used. Each segment is defined as “Must Use”, “Not Used”, or a blank denotes that the segment is optional and may be used. The next portion of the document, the data segments, outlines each data element, its usage, and coded definition. SPI will use the following symbols in the left column:

(Blank) May expect data in this segment, data element, or sub -element to be transmitted.

The attribute column, located on the right side of the segment information, provides the EDIFACT element size. SPI plans to conform to the EDIFACT field parameters. The DELFOR, DELJIT, & DESADV messages were based on version D.97A of the EDIFACT standard and the CONTRL message is version 2 release 1.
