REGULATION

In theory, transcription goes 5' to 3'. But new researches show that protein-coding genes come in mRNA/ lncRNA pairs.

lncRNAMost of them are located near to mRNA genes. The transcription of both is easier.

Transcription is activated in 65% of the cases with promoters associated to mRNA.

REGULATION

lncRNAThere are many questions about transcription initiation of lncRNA, the amount of this genes, its function and role in regulation of gene expression.

In embryonic stem cell in differentiation process, the mRNA/lncRNA are regulated together.

STUDENT OBSERVATION

Is necessary research more about this lncRNA because its interaction inside the cell could make the initiation or repression of many process. Perhaps this is correlated with diseases or with the normal function of the cell.

Researchers Decipher a Key Circuit in Regulating Genes Involved in Producing Blood Stem Cells

Until now this process is just produced in mouse embryonic stem cells. A model very similar from humans and widely used in studies of gene regulation.

Researchers Decipher a Key Circuit in Regulating Genes Involved in Producing Blood Stem Cells

Researchers identified the mechanism regulating the gene GATA2 and DNA sequences regulating this gene.

KEY CIRCUIT

STUDENT OBSERVATION The possibility of replicated

this process in humans will let us reduce the incompatibility process in patients that need transfusions.

On the other hand, knowing the key circuit in the regulation the stem cells those could be modified to produce better and more efficient cells.

MEDICAL UTILITY

Future of medicine is into the lab, in the molecular basis of human live.

Any investigation that reveals for example a new circuit, a promoter or a regulator have the possibility to create a new therapy for incurables diseases until now.

Page 17: MOLECULAR BIOLOGY FOLDING

MEDICAL UTILITY

With the production of blood tissue into the lab is guaranteed the amount of blood requirements in hospital for example. Also is a good therapy for people that need a transfusion and doesn't have compatible donors.

Page 18: MOLECULAR BIOLOGY FOLDING

MEDICAL UTILITY

If we detected the lncRNA and another RNAs function is possible to control certain parts of cell cycles. this control could improve the activity cell or restrict it.
