Development/Processing

As part of my development towards the final outcome I decided to use processing, I put together code to produce screensaver designs that relate to the brief and what Moma/Design and the Elastic Mind represents which I found was based on science and user interaction, therefore the designs I created portrayed gravitational force, particles/molecules/atoms.

MOMA | Design and the Elastic Mind

After being given the brief for this project Design and the Elastic Mind | Screen Saver, I decided to begin my research looking at the work produced for the exhibition and the style of work it consists of, which enabled me to gain an idea of what my design should look like, and how I could incorporate this style within my own piece showing influences from the exhibition.

I would say that the MOMA website in general had major influence on my screen saver design as I liked the style and layout it consists of, however other work within the website was also very inspiring such as “New City”, “Woven Rope” and “Electric Sheep” all of which I used to gain ideas and inspiration for my screen saver design.

The Final Piece...

From my Developmental and experimantational work I decided to use Processing to create the final screen saver design for MOMA, after researching MOMA and what it consists of I decided to base my design on the gravitational force and floating of molecules and particles, using different colours and sizes for each ball, I created a floating motion as the balls gradually fall to the bottom of the screen after bouncing and floating around, I would say that this screen saver is effective in representing MOMA and relates to its style of interaction.
