Our whole-school theme for this year is the POWER OF ONE - One Way, One Truth, One Life, One Love. This theme is inspired by the bible verse John 14:6… “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come

to the Father except through me.” We aim to encourage each student to under-stand the power of one. This idea that even through the power of one single person we are able to make a difference in our school and community. Changing our world one small step at a time. We want to inspire them to be excited for every new day, to appreciate how blessed they are to see each new morn-ing, to make the most out of it and know that they truly matter. We aim to nurture them in their successes and reassure them in their failures; and reminding them that it is often through failure that we learn. We want to help them develop their relationship with Jesus who is the way, the truth, the life and ultimately a God who demonstrates uncondi-tional love.Pastor Gerrard Price

The Invictus Wellbeing Program Presentation - Joshua Brown

The Invictus Wellbeing Program is a long-term multimodel wellbeing experience that will be integrated into our school program for students in Years 7-10. Students are given a lived experience of positive psychology, com-bined with ongoing outdoor education and regular memory events that have been cus-tom made in order for students to harness skills and ways of thinking that will promote resilience and wellbeing for the rest of their lives. The program is built around four elements: Network, Master, Journey and Serve - each thoughtfully created to cover a wide range of issues and build the global competencies of the future. A full curriculum including lesson plans, online resources and event descrip-tions make it straight forward for teachers and facilitators to deliver the program.

The content draws on the research of Dr Martin Seligman (Positive Psychology) and a number of other leading academics, ensur-ing that the framework is evidence-based and philosophically robust. It combines out-door education, skill mastery, soft skill acqui-sition and service learning to encourage par-ticipants to develop the type of outlook that enables them to live lives defined by self-con-fidence, curiosity, empathy and compassion. During each element, students are invited to take part in a significant memory event that epitomises the life lessons learnt in the corre-sponding segment of the curriculum.

Joshua Brown, original author of this pro-gram will be giving a presentation in the

Stadium Monday 17th February at 6:45pm.

We will provide hot potatoes and fruit salad for tea.

Please fill in the form attached if you plan to attend.
