6th 10th July Writing Notebook.notebook 1 July 02, 2020 Monday 6th July 2020 LO: retell a story using pictures and actions. 3 Billy Goats Gruff Once upon a time, there were three Billy Goats Gruff. Little Billy Goat Gruff, Middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff and Big Billy Goat Gruff. They all lived in the greenest field in a valley. They loved to eat the sweetest, freshest grass but were so greedy that now the field was brown without a single blade of grass left to eat! THEY WERE SO HUNGRY!! In the distance, they could see a field that was much greener but to get to it they would have to cross a rickety old bridge. Under the bridge lived the meanest troll called Trevor. He liked nothing better than to eat a juicy Billy-Goat.!! The smallest Billy-Goat decided he would try to cross the bridge. Just as he was walking across, the troll shouted, “Who’s that trip-trapping across my bridge?” The frightened Billy-Goat squeaked, “It’s only me, I’m looking for some tasty green grass to eat!!” “Well, I’m going to eat you for my tea.” replied the Troll. The little Billy-Goat said, “I’m really small, why not wait for my brother who is bigger and fatter than me?” So, the troll decided to wait and let him cross over the bridge. Next, the middle-sized Billy- Goat Gruff went to the bridge. Just as he was crossing the bridge he heard, “Who’s that trip-trapping across my bridge?” The Middle-sized Billy-Goat Gruff said, in his softest voice, “It’s only me. I’m following my brother to eat the sweet grass.” “Well I’m going to eat you for my tea.” said the Troll!! “I’m not big enough to fill you up, just wait for my brother who is bigger and fatter than me.” “Ok!” said the troll and let him pass. Big Billy-Goat Gruff could see his two brothers eating the sweet grass and wanted some too. He started to cross the bridge when he heard, “Who’s that trip-trapping across my bridge? I’m the troll and I’m going to eat you all up!!” The Big Billy-Goat replied, “Oh no you’re not!!” “Oh yes I am.” said the troll. The troll rushed towards the Billy goat but he was bigger than the troll. He caught him on his horns and tossed him into the stream below. The troll disappeared under the water and was never seen again. The three Billy-Goats Gruff enjoyed eating the freshest, sweetest, greenest grass ever!! Here is your new story - The Three Billy Goats Gruff!
