Homework ! We are often asked “What is my child's homework?”
From now on all students homework will be in our newsletters.
We do not do homework for ‘homework's sake’.
Every night your child should read for at least 15 minutes:
Year 0 ! 4 will be provided with readers
Year 5 ! 6 will be provided with weekly library books and du" y
books
Every night your child can use Reading Eggs. The teachers
have re selected tasks for their reading level.
All other homework is listed here, and on class blogs.
1. Last term your child received a free du" y book. Read this
again with your child and ask them the following questions
A. Who is the main character of this book?
B. Tell me three events/things that happened in this
story.
C. If you could change the ending/make this character
do something di" erent, what would that be……..
2. Choose and event that you and your family did during the
school holidays. Using the following graphic organiser, record in
words and pictures this event.

Some highlights from our Class Blogs
A2 ! Lots of us solidified our place
value understanding of groups of 10 by
understanding that ‘ty’ means 'groups of10' ! for example two hundred at fifty
two means 25 groups of 10! Here is
Toni, practicing before school! She is so
focussed on her learning here!
C1 ! This term we are focused on teaching the children allabout being clean, healthy and staying safe. This week wefocused on washing our hands correctly.
We also discussed germs and how they can be spread by dirtyhands.
All students may ride their bikes to and from school wearing a helmet. However ONLY year 5/6 students may
do this without their parent/caregiver alongside them. All other year levels MUST be riding next to their
caregiver.
