Course DescriptionAdopting and implementing state of the art technologies and treatment protocols is paramount in building and sustaining a successful dental practice. This program will provide practitioners with unique insight on the latest clinical paradigms, workflows, materials and technological advancements to achieve exceptional patient outcomes in restorative, reconstructive, surgical and implant dentistry. Additionally, this course will give the participant a broad understanding of the contemporary practice of dental sleep medicine and how to implement it in everyday dental practice. The course will consist of lectures and a participant interactive exercise.Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Describe and discuss the contemporary techniques, workflows and materialsutilized in prosthetic and dental implant therapy for the partially and completely edentulous patient.

• Identify options on the basics of local anesthesia of the oral cavity.• Define common adult traumatic dental injuries and their immediate and long

term prosthetic management.• Discuss policies and guidelines for the practice of dental sleep medicine

endorsed by national and state organizations.• Identify and discuss the use of opioids in dentistry and alternative pain control

options. This will fullfill the NCSBDE CE opioid requirement.• Distinguish between the pros and cons of autotransplantation of teeth.• Discuss the contemporary diagnosis and restorative management of mutilated

dentition.• Identify and discuss the periodontal diagnosis and prognosis of the restorative

patient.• Recognize step-by-step approach to clinical crown lengthening.• Describe and discuss how to prevent and manage common complications during

and after implant surgery.• Recognize the treatment modifications necessary to safely treat medically

compromised patients in a dental practice.• Apply contemporary techniques for dental implant solutions.
