NORTHAMPTON AREA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS PRESENTED

The SPEAKER For the second and final oppoltunity for young people from Pennsylvania to be introduced to the House, the Chair recognizes the gentleman, Mr. Nyce, and the gentleman, Mr. Yandrisevits.

Mr. NYCE. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I am very proud to be here today to recognize not one but

two outstanding State championship teams from my alma mater, Nolthampton Area Senior High School.

With us today are the State championship wrestlers and swimmers. I am going to introduce to you the State championship wrestling team captain and a State champion. The captain is Steve Gaugler; the State champion is Mike Tomsic; and coach, Don Rohn. This team went 24 and 0 this year in the toughest league in the Commonwealth. They have carried a strong tradition of wrestling, as evidenced by the Lehigh Valley area here in the Commonwealth, and have been ranked number one in the country by USA Today.

So 1 am very proud to be presenting them a citation on behalf of the House of Representatives recognizing this tremendous accomplishment, and I would like you all to please give them a round of applause.

Mr. YANDRISEVITS. As Bob said, the Northampton Area School District is doubly fortunate, because in addition to the State championship wrestling team, the swimming team is also the PIAA State champion.

I have with me here today Coach Gwen Whildin; and captain, Judd Krier; and the gold medalist, Steve Medei, and I would like to present, on behalf of the House of Representatives, this citation to the Northampton Area swim team.
