Mahalo Liberato Viduya, Jr...

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of HawaiiUSA, we would like to extend our sincere Mahalo to longtime Board Member, Liberato (Libby) Viduya, Jr. who has elected to retire from his duties as a Board Member of our credit union. Mr. Viduya served as a Director for 13 years and chaired many different committees while on the Board. While he was a Board Member, Mr. Viduya’s contributions helped the credit union grow from $367 million in assets to $1.387 billion today. The credit union will miss his positive attitude and warm congeniality. Thank you, Mr. Viduya! Good luck and best wishes.

Welcome Aboard Kelvin Chun

The retirement of Liberato Viduya, Jr. from the Board of Directors created an opportunity to name a replacement. The Board of Directors has appointed Kelvin Chun to complete Mr. Viduya’s 2014-2015 term. Mr. Chun has volunteered on various HawaiiUSA Board Committees since 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and has 30 years of teaching experience in mathematics and technology. Since 1998, Mr. Chun has been the Technology Resource Teacher and Librarian/Media Specialist at Nuuanu Elementary School.

At this year’s HawaiiUSA Annual Dinner, a member lost his wallet. Distraught and stressed, he worried about his missing wallet as it contained his ID cards and credit cards. Fortunately for him, another member found his wallet and it was promptly returned with all contents intact. The member, Mr. Kim, wrote to us in hopes of expressing his gratitude to the finder of his wallet. To that person, we forward this message:

“I wish to thank and commend this gentleman for his honesty... It relieved all my anxieties and it saved me the trouble of securing new cards... To this honest and caring gentleman, thank you very much and blessings to you.”

H. Kim
