Monocacy Valley Montessori Public Charter School
Highlights
• 2015-16 is our 13th year as an FCPS Charter School.
• Lottery waitlist statistics: • 2015-16: 1163 • 2014-15: 996
• Attendance in 2014-15 was 95.6%.
• 98% of eligible elementary students returned in 2015-16.
• 42% of the 2015-16 eighth grade students began at Monocacy Valley Montessori in kindergarten or preschool.

Our Goals

Instructional Program Middle School - Grades 7 and 8
• Employs the Montessori philosophy
• Follows the FCPS curriculum for all subjects
• Taught by highly qualified and MSDE Certified teachers
• Includes small group instruction
• Offers Algebra I for high school credit
• Promotes service to community
• Transitions from Montessori to traditional style of teaching
• Integrates Technology Lab with community-based projects.
• Allows students to choose specials
• Provides Spanish 1 and 2 before high school
Assessments MSA Science
• Because of PARCC, Science was the only MSA taken by our students in this year.
• 5th Grade students outperformed the FCPS average 82.8% to 76.8%.
• 8th Grade Students outperformed the FCPS average 95% to 80.2%.

HIGHLIGHTS:
• One of 4 Middle School Algebra programs where 100% of students scored a 4- 5 on PARCC.
• Ranked first in FCPS in 3 Math categories,7th & 8th grade, scoring 4-5 on
PARCC. • Ranked first in FCPS in 3 Math categories, 7th & 8th, scoring 3-5 on PARCC. • Ranked first in FCPS in 3 ELA categories, 6th – 8th, scoring 4-5 on PARCC. • Ranked first in FCPS in 4 ELA categories, 5th-8th, scoring 3-5 on PARCC.
