DCI established its Sun Child Home (for orphans) in Dhaka, Bangladesh during July 2010. The home currently provides a full spectrum of support for 45 orphan girls.

Education Update-September 2015

The girls are enjoying school. This month they have enjoyed their Eid-Ul Adha vacation. All the girls, in-cluding the girls of Bharateswari Homes, were at Sun Child Home for this break. They had some relaxed time but also did extra work to improve their performance at school.

After their 1st term exam the five children of Bhartaswar homes came to Sun Child home to celebrate Eid-Ul Adha with their Sun Child sisters.

Besides their academic education, the girls of Sun Child Home are taking part many extra-curricular activi-ties like– singing, dancing, learning computer programs, drawing, reading non-fiction story books, watching TV, playing with toys, playing different games, taking physical exercise etc.

Mr. Hai Zaidul Serim from USA visited DCI’s Programs in Bangladesh. During his visit he met and talked to all the officials of the DCI Bangladesh Office and Orphan Support Program (OSP). He became pleased to know about all the current activities of Sun Child Home. He also appreciated and thanked the officials of this organi-zation for their hard work and contribution. In addition, Ms. Sayeda Sultana & her family visited DCI’s Sun Child Home (for orphans). They were delight-ed to see all the activities of the girls of Sun Child Home (for orphans). Finally they prayed to the almighty for more development of this organization in the future.

Sadqa: September 2015

The Arabic word Sadqa is from the root word sadq which means the truth. Sadaqa actually means giving something which one loves in the way of Allah. This month a relative of Mr. Mizinur Rahman Laskar donated a goat as a Sadqa. The children of Sun Child Home (for orphans) were delighted to get the goat and the girls were having lunch with the meat of this goat.

Eid-Ul Adha: September 2015

Eid-Ul-Adha, also known is celebrated by Muslims across the world to the honor of Prophet Ibrahim's willing-ness to sacrifice his only son Ishmael on God's command. The Arabic word "Eid" means festival and the word "Adha" means sacrifice. On the occasion of this day the different donors of DCI donated goats and cows for the children of Sun Child Home (for orphans). Ms. Kaniz Rashid Lubna Mamun, Ms. Selina Imam, Ms. Tahamina R. Chowdhury each of them gave a goat and MS. Shahin Samad, Ms. Anika Ali & Her Family, Jus-tice Habibur Rahman each gave a cow. These donation will provide meet for the children.

Eid-Ul Adha Celebration at home

Birthday Celebration of Hriddi in Sun Child Home

Mr. Abu Saif Md. Rushdi is a banker. For his son’s birthday celebration he searched on website about some orphanage. Then he found the DCI’s Orphanage. After that he contact the Coordinator of DCI in Bangladesh and expressed his desire. DCI Coordinator warmly invited him to celebrate his son’s birthday. On Sep. 29, 2015 Mr. Rushdi, his son Hriddi and his family came to Sun Child Home (for orphans) for the Birthday Cele-bration. Little Hriddi and everyone of his family was delighted on this joyful occasion. Ridddi cut cake to start celebrating his birthday. All the kids enjoyed a lot and took a special meal after the occasion.

Live Program on Skype : September-2015

Mr. Afjal Ali from Illinois, USA organized a program for DCI. There were lots of audiences in this program. Via Skype the girls of Sun Child Home (for orphans) presented a live program from Bangladesh before the audi-ences Illinois, USA. Nupur Akter a girl of Sun child Home conducted the program with her nice presentation. The girls performed dancing, singing and different curricular activities. In addition, the girls of Sun Child Home talked to Mr. Afjal Ali via Skype. The audiences were very delighted to see the performances of the girls. Fi-nally the audience appreciated all the girls for their extraordinary performances and wishing their bright future.
