A massive open online course is a free Web –based distance learning program that is designed for the participation of large numbers of geographically dispersed students.

FOUNDED

The word MOOC was coined in 2008 by Dare Cormier, from the university of Prince Edward Island

INVOLVEMENT OF MOOCS

The MOOC concept involves universities putting short courses online and inviting anyone in the world to sign up for free. It attracted millions of learners world wide years ago.

TECHNOLOGY ENHANCEDMOOC is also a bid to ensure the university remains ahead of the fast moving curve in learning and teaching technology

TEACHING AND LEARNING

Teaching and learning will present material through a blend of videos and other media, combined who are studying the same course

EMBRACING TECHNOLOGYMOOC is intended to signal a commitment to embracing the newest technologies and latest thinking and teaching and learning to offer student something different

DEVELOPMENTMOOC’s encourages development of learning and use on the futurelearns

MY INTEREST

The MOOC that I would be interested in doing is the Economic and Finance

TOPIC PURSUEDThe topics that I would like to pursue are knowing what makes a good economists and how one can tackle the economy of the world not just South Africa
