- Mass Planting- Hedges/Screening- General Garden Use

Planting & Growing

Moonlight Scotch Broom will grow to be about 5 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 5 feet. It tends to fillout right to the ground and therefore doesn't necessarily require facer plants in front, and is suitable forplanting under power lines. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to livefor approximately 20 years.

This shrub should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers dry to average moisture levels with verywell-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thusmakes an ideal choice for xeriscaping or the moisture-conserving landscape. It is particular about its soilconditions, with a strong preference for clay, alkaline soils, and is able to handle environmental salt. It ishighly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This is a selected varietyof a species not originally from North America.
