Have a Safe and Wonderful New Year!!

The ROSS (Resident Opportunity & Self -Sufficiency) Program had a wonderful 2019

year working and collaborating with various Bishop Tribal Entities and Inyo County Departments. It was a busy year, with informational booths, monthly collaboration meetings, various workshops & dinners, event planning meetings and collaborating with various agen-cies for awesome community events. If ROSS Program does not get re-funded, we will have to prepare for close-out on January 31, 2020.

I especially would like to thank each and every one of you for collaborating with the us.

We had some pretty awesome presenters speaking and sharing their paths of achievement at the monthly ROSS Collaborator’s meetings.

The ROSS Program has touched many lives with resource assistance, emergency hous-

ing, or just an encouraging word. Sometimes life throws us a curve, and we as Native people should be quick to meet the needs through resources within our community. Sometimes, just being there in silence for them, is all they need.

If you are in need of resources, please stop by and complete a ROSS Needs Assessment,

the program can assist with local transportation to and from appointments if you do not have a vehicle or a ride.

The ROSS mission is to assist our Tribal members in working towards Self-Sufficiency.

Public Works Utilities Reminder of Required Temporary Use Permit (TUP) Annual Renewal for

Water and Sewer Service for 2020

The Water and Sewer Policy requires that all connections have a valid TUP for service to each unit. Each TUP must be renewed each year to remain valid for rentals and units occupied by someone other than the assignment holder. The TUP provides important information regarding the land use, current billing information, and provides for review of rental homes in accordance with the Tribal Rental Minimal Housing Standards Ordinance 2012-2. The information assists the Public Works Department with obtaining grants and in planning for growth on the Reservation to insure there is an adequate and safe domestic water supply and wastewater capacity with our agreement for wastewater treat-ment with Eastern Sierra Service District. We are encouraging customers to pick up TUP forms at the Tribal Administration Office located at 50 Tu Su Lane. We are asking that all customers who have a rental or occupant that is not the Assignment holder submit a TUP as soon as possible so we have updated information for long range planning and infrastructure capacity needs and in obtaining grants. If you have questions please call the Public Works Office at 760-873-6638. Completed TUP’s should be turned in by January 31, 2020 with the required $5.00 fee to the Tribal Fiscal Department at 50 Tu Su Lane. In addition, Community Members may also provide tips regarding non-compliant or hookups that may not have a cur-

rent account to the Public Works Department. Each complaint or tip will be investigated for appropriate action.
