Naked ambition: MorphCostumes launches the birthday suitGlobal costume pioneers team up with Faux Real to launch most daring range yet, featuring photorealistic naked costumes ahead of Halloween

Morph Costumes, infamous for pushing the boundaries when it comes to creating innovative costumes, has teamed up with Faux Real apparel to launch a limited edition collection of scandalous costumes, created by using photorealistic print technology ahead of Halloween.

Are you faux real?

The audacious range uses high definition printing to replicate intricate designs and skin detailing and have been created to ‘raise the benchmark for quality costumes in the US’. The full range includes a completely naked man with censored nether region, a naked hillbilly complete with tan lines, tattoos and beautiful teeth and Bad Santa complete with hairy chest, hipflask, lipstick and beer marks. Other designs within the range are: Biker Dude, SWAT team and the Pinstripe gentleman.

Gregor Lawson, Co-founder of MorphCostumes commented:“Gone are the days where you actually have to strip off at a party to cause a scene – now you can streak in the comfort of a skin-tight costume.”

We’re going streaking…!

To put the suits to the test, YouTube prankster and internet sensation Trey Prankz, took the streets in all his glory and streaked through shopping centres and restaurants to gauge just how realistic the costumes are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAE4UUmMRek

A pair of onlookers commented:“I thought he was naked at first” “I did too, I screamed that out the window at him – I was like dawg, I thought you were naked”.

Gregor continued:“We're passionate about creating the most impactful costumes in the world so that people can dominate their Halloween parties, and what could be more impactful than being naked, without actually being naked! This range of Faux Real Morphsuits is definitely the most daring collection we have ever created. The partnership with Faux Real was a truly natural fit with MorphCostumes – the print quality is outstanding and we can’t wait to see the British public’s reaction to them”.

The launch fits snugly within the recent rebrand, where the company changed its name from Morphsuits to MorphCostumes in September, which was designed to better represent the huge variety of other types of innovative costume now available. Also part of the rebrand was the launch of MorphFamous - a global

crowdsourced costume design opportunity ahead of Halloween, where fans are invited to design the costume of the future for a chance to win $10,000 prize money and a share of profits when MorphCostumes produces and sells the design across the globe, which could be worth up to $40,000 in just the first year.

Gregor continued:“Forget your vampires and witches this Halloween – we have created a massive variety of costumes that are guaranteed to put your friend’s costumes to shame. We even brought an ex-NASA engineer on board to design a range of tech-enhanced costumes that incorporate patented integration of wearable smartphone technology into the clothing to animate the designs. Whether you dress up as a naked hillbilly, or as one of our digital Cyclops with a real solo moving eye in the middle of your forehead – it’s time to ditch the fake blood and fangs, and take your Halloween to the next level this year.”

What is MorphCostumes?Founded in 2009, and originally called ‘Morphsuits’, the costume brand was created by brothers Fraser and Ali Smeaton and friend Gregor Lawson - MorphCostumes is now the costume phenomenon taking over the world.

In 2009, the range of costumes included just six plain coloured Morphsuits. Five years on, the range of costumes has expanded to include: digital designs created by ex-NASA engineer, Mark Rober that integrate wearable smartphone technology to animate the designs, for example Halloween costumes that display real life beating hearts or open flesh wounds filled with maggots. The range also includes digital Christmas jumpers as well as a host of officially licensed costumes, for example, Power Rangers and Tetris blocks that use pop-up tent technology, and a gargantuan amount of other varieties in between.

2014 saw the launch of MorphCostumes to pave the next phase of the company’s future and to further cement the brand as the first household name in the costumes sector, following the launch of a new brand identity, advertising campaign, expanded range of costumes, commerce website and, packaging and customer experience. MorphCostumes is passionate about innovation, so there is a huge amount of exciting NPD in the pipeline for later this year and beyond, so watch this space…
