Dear PB families,
On the afternoon of Tuesday April 19, we will have
an accreditation visit from AdvancED. The team
members visiting PB are Barbara O'Block from the
Diocese of Gary and Dr. Diane Starkovich from the
Archdiocese of Atlanta. We are excited to be chosen
as one of ten schools to represent the Diocese in our
inaugural Diocesan Accreditation. Previous
Accreditations were accredited locally at the school
level. One item that was necessary for Diocesan
accreditation was a unified curriculum. Our teachers
have worked hard with the University of Notre Dame
and ACE (Alliance for Catholic Education,
https://ace.nd.edu/about/the-alliance-for-catholic-
education ) to create the Diocese of Fort Wayne
South bend curriculum which is aligned with the
Indiana Academic Standards. You can learn more
about AdvancED at http://www.advanc-
ed.org/about-us .
The third quarter recognitions assembly had many
wonderful achievements from all grade levels. Three
major recognitions were given at the assembly.
Madison Naatz received the Tin Caps All Star
Reader Award. Madison will be honored at the PB
Tincaps reading program game, 1:05 Sunday June
5th. Aidan Stauffer was recognized for first place out
of all area 6th grade students in the American
Mathematics Competition, hosted by the
Mathematical Association of America. The
completion took place at The University of St.
Francis. The Future City Team was recognized and
received individual plaques for their awards at the
2016 competition. Please see the 3rd quarter honor
roll attachment in the electronic newsletter.
