The font Mostro is unique and innovative, just like

it’s namesake. “Mostro” was inspired by DJ Mostro, a

native to Denver, Colorado, and a musical innovator. His

music is electronic, exciting and gives off great energy.

It only made sense to create the font with the exact same

influences.

Mostro’s Alphabet

Unique ornaments appear throughout characters

Both the lowercase and capital V project beneath the baseline

Wings appear on many capital letters

extended spikes are included on both the lowercase and capital O

Both M’s and W’s include winged and spike elements

Some of the lowercase ascenders have slanted tips

the lowercase c has a very uniquely symetrical shape

A NOTE ON THE TYPE

The text in this book was set in Century Gothic and

Mostro. “Century Gothic is a design based on 20th

Century, which was drawn by Sol Hess between

1936 and 1947.. Its design is influenced by the

geometric style sans serif faces which were popular

during the 1920s and 30s, and by the desire to give

it widths compatible with ITC Avant Garde Gothic.

Century Gothic is very practical for headlines and

general display work and for small quantities of text,

particularly in advertising.”. (typedia.com). Mostro was

created in November of 2012 by Graphic Designer,

Carly Dutch-Greene.
