Calling All. . .
Cabrini Easter Egg Makers!!!
After careful consideration and discussion, we are pleased to
announce that Mother Cabrini Parish will produce their delicious
chocolate Easter Eggs in 2021! Eggs will be 0.90¢ ea.
Issues of social distancing, sanitization, covid health protocols have
all been addressed. We are confident that can go forward with all
appropriate precautions in place.
Our planning committee met this past week and all agreed that our success will depend heavily upon
the turn-out of volunteers needed for the various tasks of production.
Our first priority will be to maintain a healthy and safe production environment. Masks, hair
coverings and protective gloves will be required. If anyone does not feel well or is experiencing
any of the covid symptoms. . . PLEASE, for your well-being and that of our workers, DO NOT
JOIN US until you are well.
The revenue from our Easter Egg project is critical to our fund raising parish budget. With the
cooperation, good will and turnout of our egg makers, I feel confident we can accomplish this
important task.
Easter Egg production will begin on Monday, February 8th. Production days/times will be:
Monday - Thursday, 9:00AM - c. Noon. Join us for whatever amount of time you can!
The success of our Easter Egg project depends upon selling our eggs. Because of logistical
limitations, we WILL NOT be selling eggs in the church vestibule after weekend Masses.
However, we encourage you to phone your orders in to the parish office (570-648-4512) and we will
have your orders ready for pick up at the parish office, side porch door. An additional pick
up/purchase location will be in the parish hall on: Fridays, from 1:00PM - 2:00PM. If you
prefer to pick up your Easter Eggs in the church hall, please phone your order in to the parish
office. Please have the exact amount when you pick up your order.
If you are able to help the parish by selling larger quantities of our eggs at your workplace, to friends
or neighbors, businesses, etc., please call the parish office with your details.
Once again, a sincere “thank you” to everyone who plays a vital part in our annual Easter egg project.
A special note of thanks to the planning committee who hammered out the details for this year’s
production.

Regarding the Covid-19 Vaccine. . .
Dear Cabrini Parishioners,
I glimmer of hope has been given us with the development and recent release of the COVID-19
vaccine. Let us thank God for all those involved who helped in its development and those who
will administer it.
Our American Bishops, and in particular our own Bishop Gainer have addressed moral and
ethical concerns regarding the production of the vaccines.
Bishop Gainer’s statement regarding the vaccines has appeared in the Diocesan paper, The
Witness.
On the next bulletin page, I have reproduced the Bishop’s letter in this regard for clarification as
well as for your personal faith formation growth on this topic.
Let us continue our prayers on behalf of all those in the medical professions who are often on the
front-lines in their care for us.
Fr. Martin J. Kobos, OFM Conv.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.
Collect
Grant us, Lord our God,
that we may honor you with all our mind,
and love everyone in truth of heart.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Deuteronomy 18:15-20
Moses spoke to all the people, saying: “A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among
your own kin; to him you shall listen. This is exactly what you requested of the Lord, your God, at Horeb on the
day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let us not again hear the voice of the Lord, our God, nor see this great fire
any more, lest we die.’ And the Lord said to me, ‘This was well said. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from
among their kin, and will put my words into his mouth; he shall tell them all that I command him. Whoever will
not listen to my words which he speaks in my name, I myself will make him answer for it. But if a prophet
presumes to speak in my name an oracle that I have not commanded him to speak, or speaks in the name of other
gods, he shall die.’”
Psalm 95
R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord;
let us acclaim the rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us joyfully sing psalms to him. R.
Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the Lord who made us.
-
For he is our God,
and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides. R.
Oh, that today you would hear his voice:
“Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the desert,
where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me though they had seen my works.” R.
1 Corinthians 7:32-35
Brothers and sisters: I should like you to be free of anxieties. An unmarried man is anxious about the things of the
Lord, how he may please the Lord. But a married man is anxious about the things of the world, how he may please
his wife, and he is divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is anxious about the things of the Lord, so that she
may be holy in both body and spirit. A married woman, on the other hand, is anxious about the things of the
world, how she may please her husband. I am telling you this for your own benefit, not to impose a restraint upon
you, but for the sake of propriety and adherence to the Lord without distraction.
Gospel Acclamation
Alleluia, alleluia.
The people who sit in darkness have seen a great light;
on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death,
light has arisen. Mt 4:16
Alleluia, alleluia.
Mark 1:21-28
Then they came to Capernaum, and on the sabbath Jesus entered the synagogue and taught. The people were
astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes. In their synagogue
was a man with an unclean spirit; he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come
to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet! Come out of
him!” The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him. All were amazed and asked one
another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey
him.” His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.
Profession of Faith
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
-
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
(At the words that follow, up to and including and became man, all bow.)
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
(The Apostles’ Creed may be used instead of the Nicene Creed.)
The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Prayer over the Offerings
O Lord, we bring to your altar
these offerings of our service:
-
be pleased to receive them, we pray,
and transform them
into the Sacrament of our redemption.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Communion Antiphon
Let your face shine on your servant.
Save me in your merciful love.
O Lord, let me never be put to shame, for I call on you. Cf. Ps 31 (30):17-18
OR
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the land. Mt 5:3-4
Prayer after Communion
Nourished by these redeeming gifts,
we pray, O Lord,
that through this help to eternal salvation
true faith may ever increase.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer to St. Michael
the Archangel St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of
the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
