STEWARDSHIP SHARING TIME, TALENT AND
TREASURE
FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Dear Friends,
Today we honor our Mothers. Peter’s words in the second reading apply to many of them I am sure, for they have been cornerstones in our lives, chosen and precious. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches His disciples that He is the Way to the Father. Many of us were shown the Way to heaven by our mothers, for them we are eternally grateful. After this Mass, we will send you forth into the Domestic Church which is now alive and vibrant with the Spirit of God.
May you grow in the knowledge and love of God through His Son Jesus, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Together, we will share this Eucharistic Feast and be re-united to our Eucharistic Lord, Who waits for us in order to love us more!
May Month of Mary!
So much happens in these weeks of May that we can forget the spiritual richness and blessings our parish family receives during this time.
Today after the 10:00 Mass, we will Crown Mary and Jesus. Mary’s life is a model of communion with her Son – her silence is her consent. “Do what he tells you.” She points to Christ as the only way to salvation. She points to Him as the prime giver; she participates with us in receiving Him. Her ‘yes’ is total surrender to the will of God.
It is right then that we should pray with Mary through the heart of Mary. May I join our Holy Father in suggesting that we pray together the Rosary at Noon each day. Mary is our primary example, our mother in faith.
With gratitude for your goodness, and wishing all our mothers a happy Mothers’ Day with Mary, our most devoted Mother,
Father Cioppi

SPECIAL CORONAVIRUS PAGE ON OUR WEBSITE
MDP is responding to the Coronavirus pandemic and updating schedules and activities in accordance with Archdiocesan directives and guidance from government agencies. Our website, www.mdpparish.com, has a page that will be the hub for all the latest information and will be updated frequently as the situation warrants. As you know, this is an incredibly fluid situation, and things are likely to change at any time, so please check the website frequently for the most up-to-date information.
Our goal is to continue to provide you the opportunity to be a part of parish life as best as we can. We may not be able to come together as we usually do as a parish family, but we will do our best to “Worship God first, above all other things and then ‘go and make disciples'” in different and creative ways.
Parish Staff is working remotely, with reduced hours and there are no public office hours. If you call please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Or you can email Carol Murray @ [email protected]. Please be safe and healthy! God Bless!

Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life. Keep them close to You and help them live the Commandments. A CORONAVIRUS PRAYER Jesus Christ, healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty and sorrow.
Be with those who have died from the virus. May they be at rest with You in Your eternal peace.
Be with the families of those who are sick or have died. As they worry and grieve, defend them from illness and despair. May they know Your peace.
Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process. May they know Your protection and peace.
Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks. May they know Your peace, as they work together to achieve it on earth.
Whether we are home or abroad, surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or only a few, Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare. In place of our anxiety, give us Your peace.
Jesus Christ, heal us. Amen

GRIEF SUPPORT
Grieving is a process, different for each individual experiencing it, yet it has no real timeline; no assurance that you will be fine in a month, a year or two years. You will experience a rollercoaster of emotions when you are suffering from grief, yet you may not experience the same emotions as someone else. You will not be the same person you where prior to your loved one’s death, but you will be able to cope.
The meetings for Grief Support has been suspended as required by the State government. Please check here to see updates on when meetings will resume. Be safe!
IT IS OUR RIGHT
AND
OUR DUTY TO VOTE!
Our April primary has been postponed until June. As the June 2 primary approaches, we are all reminded of the importance of performing our civic duty by voting. This year, the State of Pennsylvania is encouraging people to vote safely by mail. To start the process of signing up for “Vote by Mail” go to www.pavoterservices.pa.gov and follow the directions. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can also get a paper application for “Vote by Mail” by calling the PA Department of State at 1-877-868-3722.

During this time of social distancing, routines have been interrupted. You
can still order Scrip and remain socially distant. The best ways to do
this is to go to www.greatlakesscrip.com and reload
your existing cards. You can order Electronic Cards as well. If neither of these work for you, you can call the parish office at 610-265-4178 and
leave a message for an order. Or you can call Mariann Bevenour at 610-212-7520 to place an order. We can then make arrangements to deliver orders
and pick up payment.
