Welcome About Us Photos Movies Blog Mother’s Day 2011 Saturday, May 7, 2011 My mother’s day started off hot. Because we have only been in our new place a few days over a week, and because at new places it takes time for it to feel as clean as I want my home, we have been vacuuming and mopping everyday. So Sunday morning we were hosting our worship time and lunch, and I really wanted to get the floors done before everyone arrived... as well as some dishes that needed to be clean, as well as getting the kids ready and myself showered. And it was HOT. I made the mistake of blow drying my hair, which just raised my temperature a lot. I finally turned the expensive A/C on, so I could cool off enough to keep some makeup on my face. It didn’t really work, but I just figured Mother’s Day was a good time to wear makeup. So the pictures of me... well my face is red. It’s heat enduced redness. The kids spent time in the morning coloring some mother’s day pictures for me. And I got a whole lot of mother’s day hugs and kisses. (These hugs last approximately .04 seconds longer than a normal hug... that’s how you know the difference. That, and the fact that they are given ON mother’s day).

Mother’s Day 2011Saturday, May 7, 2011

My mother’s day started off hot.

They also played by laying on the coffee table, selling beads, and climbing on the keyboard (it’s an old one that the kids play with).

Me, at 24+ wks. Or something like that. My 4 blessings. Truly.

After our worship time, we made the usual paper airplanes. Doesn’t everyone make paper airplanes with the song sheet every Sunday? And Michelle busy in the kitchen. Our theme was Mexican. It was a post-celebration of Cinco de Mayo.We had some delicious food, and Michelle treated us to homemade Sopapillas.

Our usual game of telephone that the kids always start while we are eating. Jess, had fun too! :)

They were truly amazing... finger-lickin’-good.

It was a fun day and I am thankful for the friends that we had over and the amazing kids that made it possible for me to celebrate Mother’s Day.

I heard a rumor that there are some fresh flowers coming my way sometime soon... Something to look forward to! Oh, and my Mother’s Day present... the large white fridge sitting in my new kitchen!
