The Annual Heisinger Memorial Golf Tournament is coming up. Satur-day, June 11th. We will be playing again at Sequoia Country Club. Theformat remains the same, a four person scramble with a shotgun start. There will be 32 foursomes (128 golfers). The cost remains the same thisyear as it was last year, $60.00 for Sequoia Club members and $100.00for non-members. Lunch on the course from 11am to 3pm. A BBQ Tri-Tip dinner and awards will follow at the lodge. Additional dinners areavailable for non-golfers at $15.00 each. The sign-up sheet is now avail-able at the lodge. Last year’s players have first sign-up privileges. Opensign-up will begin May 16th. This is a great tournament and as usual allthe proceeds will be donated to Hospice of the Sierra. We are anticipatingthis tournament to fill up very fast. Don’t miss out. Finally, Thank you to all of our past year officers both LOOM andWOTM. You have done a great job of running this lodge and leave a highmark for the new officers to reach. It has been my pleasure to work withall of you.
Get involved,Fraternally,Bill [email protected] / (209) 795-3112
I would like to start off by thanking outgoing Gov. Bob Burns for another great term. I would also like to thankBob Arnold (Junior Governor), Bill Kislingbury (Administrator), Bill Osincup (Treasurer), Rod Cummings (Prelate), DanLeary (Past Governor), Pat Wigglesworth (2 year trustee), and Jerry Osincup (1 year trustee) for their time and service toour lodge.
To start off, I would like to share a little information about myself to those of you I have not had the opportunityto meet. I joined the lodge in 2014 and in 2015 I served the lodge as 3 year trustee. I retired in 2013 from the AntiochPolice department and my wife (outgoing Sr. Regent Diane Freier) and I decided to move to Arnold full-time. I am look-ing forward to my term as Governor of our lodge and look forward to meeting more of our brothers and Co-workers.
We have an exciting year ahead us with some great events coming up. We have the Mothers Day brunch on May8th that will be cooked and served by your Board of Officers, the annual rib feed, the annual Luau, the Heisinger golftournament and many more lunches, dinners, and celebrations over the summer. I would like to encourage everyone tocome down to the lodge and get involved with our various programs that benefit our community as well as Moosehavenand Mooseheart. Here is to the exciting year ahead of us!
The Bull Moose of the month is Rod Cummins! Rod has served on the board the last year as Prelate as well asserving as the chair for the medical equipment. Recently Rod spent several hours on our monthly work day reorganizingand clearing out the old/unusable medical equipment. Thanks Rod for all you have done and do for our lodge!!
Scott Freier Governor

Kathy and I visited Moosehaven while we were in Jacksonville. What an ex-perience it was to see what our dues and donations are used for!! We hadwonderful lady named Chris who gave us a personalized tour of the campus.Chris is a resident of Moosehaven and loves it. She showed us all of the fa-cilities for the residents, and there is a lot. They have everything they need tolead an active and healthy life. We went to their gym where they have cardioand weight training equipment and there is also a pool to swim in daily if theywant. If they need to see a doctor there is a clinic there along with physicaltherapy. The grounds are beautiful with live oaks with moss hanging fromthe branches. Moosehaven is 73 acres with lots of open space to roam alongwith a 400 ft fishing pier built by the WOTM. There were lots of the resi-dents out on the pier fishing the day we were there. If you ever get the chanceto see this facility please take advantage of the opportunity. It really makesyou realize what the Moose is all about. We took quite a few pictures to showeveryone .Ted CarpenterMembership Chairman
We are back from our winter trip andhad a great time. I want to thankScott Freier for taking over in myabsence and doing a great job. YouDa Man!So, our April Work Day had five peo-ple show up and we decided to tacklecleaning up the men’s garage. Heck, somebody had to do it. We had a cupof coffee and a pastry and got on it.Thank you to Steve Minneci, RodCummings, Ray Sutliff, Scott Freierand Dan Leary.I want to touch again on the reasonthat these guys and ladies show up onWork Day. We take care of themonthly clean up in the kitchen, tak-ing care of changing light bulbs, working on the cooler, raking pineneedles and just doing some neededcleaning and minor repairs. We burnsaid pine needles when allowed. Ingeneral, just keeping a clean face onOUR lodge. If you have an hour or two to spare,we have Work Day the first Tuesdayof the month. You don’t have to showup every month, just when you can. But, if you look at our list, we have afew members who make a monthlypromise to the lodge. Come on down, give us a hand and you might just gethooked.OK, the kitchen is going to be closedthe second week in May for a yearlycleaning. This is when we move all ofthe stoves, etc. and do a major cleanup.Jean Lestanguet
