MOTIVATING YOURSELF What motivates you? Motivation is intrinsic (it comes from within). Recognize the Power of PURPOSE

Goals and Objectives are critical in helping you be more motivated, so be clear about them.

Write them down, review and update them regularly. Discuss them with your advisor and others in your CSO.

Power of SELF CONFIDENCE Always walk the walk, talk the talk. Have absolute confidence in your success/ultimate victory

Use Extrinsic/External Factors to help increase the motivation in your CSO.

Money, gifts, valued objects, etc.

Recognize the Intrinsic/Internal Factors which increase motivation in your CSO.

Satisfaction, achievement, responsibility

Remember what motivates you may not motivate someone else.

Use your influence and creativity!

Whenever possible, be positive; always be honest; never compromise the group.

Show appreciation, to one and all. Reinforce positive behavior. Listen! Include everyone—even those who “never”

participate. Ask for what you want and focus on the results. When you’ve tried everything, try again. DO GREAT THINGS!!!!!
