In production, logistics, service and ad-ministration Visualisation Boards make the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) transparent. In the ideal case, visualisation leads to the employees’ mutual stimulationto contribute to the thought and develop-ment process.

Apart from FiFo Board and FiFo Box, the CIP Board is a valuable tool for support directly at the workstation.

The individual print in photographic qualityfills the background of the board with life.The customer only supplies high-resolu-tion digital pictures as well as further design elements of his choice.

The Board for the Continuous Improvement Process

Motifs are for example logos, graphics,machines, buildings, products or teampictures. Due to the unmistakable look,every department or division can defineand identify at first glance. This strength-ens the team spirit and unites for new tasks.

The limitation of the number of possiblesuggestions leads to the fact that alreadyin the process information is filteredaccording to relevance. To write thesuggestions on the board, dry-erase pens are used.

In addition to that, information as for ex-ample statistics or results sheets can beplaced securely and reversibly on theboard surface with magnetic DisplayPockets.

Working at the BoardThe robot is a symbolic motif. It is an allegory of efficient and fast working (in Russian, work means “rabota“, which is the origin of theterm robot) intelligence, high-technology and ultimately economic growth. For this reason, the welding robot is a meaningful back-ground motif for our CIP Board and awakens many associations. The sublimation print of the board is scratch-resistant and has aferromagnetic, write-on surface.

Individual Lettering and Colour Code The whiteboard surface is framed by blueterminal strips at top and bottom. Thelettering and the colour design of thetext strips are defined by the customer.A uniform colour code in the lettering textsmakes it easy for the observer to find theinformation which is relevant at themoment.

Modular structureThe board system has a modular structure.In this way, the precisely suitable combi-nation and size can be assembled. The standard programme includes two heights (958 mm and 1350mm); the system is free-ly expendable to the side. Custom-made boards with individual board size and co-lour can be produced at any time. You can choose between wall attachment and at-tachment to a free-standing frame.

Also in ESD protected areasMany production processes, especially inthe semiconductor and electronics indus-try are very sensitive to uncontrolled sta-tic discharge. However, these areas do not have to do without a

VisuModul Information Board. Into the powder coating of the ESD board type, fine soot particles are integrated, increa-sing the conductivity of the surface. A sta-tic charge is therefore excluded. Pockets for the TeamBoardOur colourful OrgaPockets are a practical addition to the Cascading Display compartment system. They are available in six colours:grey blue, light grey, red, yellow, blue and green. Through clever colour coding, an immediately comprehensible further informationlevel opens up. The colour code can provide information on for example processing priorities, complaint consignments or thespecialist department waiting for a delivery.

Composed of Compartment SystemThe system consists of solid metal compartmentsarranged in cascades. A lot of papers can be stored in asmall space. The Cascading Display system is of modu-lar design: An expansion downwards by simply putting together the individual compartments or sidewards with an additional basic unit is possible without any problems.

Standard Version with 35 CompartmentsThe variant “Order Overview Goods Receipt“ consists ofan overall number of 35 compartments in sevencolumns with five compartments each, mounted to agraphite coloured base plate. One column is assignedto one weekday. In addition to that, there are thecolumns “work in progress“ and “interruption“.

The pockets have a sturdy back and transparent foil pockets on both sides, each of them able to hold documents up to athickness of 5 mm. The OrgaPockets are suitable for docu-ments up to paper size A4. Order documents, check lists or delivery protocols contained in OrgaPockets can be placed into the planning board.

FiFo – up-to-date andin line with the timesKeeping track of complex processes is still a challenge for organisational experts. In warehouses or when dealing with custom-er orders, the FiFo principle has proved its value. FiFo was developed in the striving for continuous improvement and means “First in – First out”.

In warehouses, FiFo prevents “shelf warm-ers” from settling down and goods from deteriorating or over-ageing. When pro-cesses are worked off, the FiFo principle regulates a reasonable sequence in con-sideration of the incoming orders. This avoids that orders are left undone too long and it prevents customers from possibly being annoyed by delays.

The FiFo principle is simple and it calls for a simple organisational structure. IT is not always the preferred solution.

Managing stocks with the FiFo BoardIn small-parts or pallet warehouses there is often no overview of when which parts were placed in storage. Ideally, the oldest parts are always taken out first. With the FiFo Board, this can be controlled without great effort directly at the storage rack.

Example of a process:Article No. 3920 is delivered. The materialhandler takes a coin with a storage loca-tion number from the storage containerat the bottom of the FiFo row. He storesthe product at the appropriate place andinserts the coin at the top of the FiFo row.

When a part is needed for production, the chip with the oldest part is at the bottom of the FiFo row. The chip and subsequently the part are taken out.

The chip then goes back to the storage container, thus indicating a vacant storage location.

Additionally, it is possible to mark theFiFo rows according to the traffic lightprinciple. For this purpose, magneticstrips in red, yellow and green indicatingthe tolerance zones of storage locationand material are attached to the board.

Structure and functionThe FiFo Board is equipped with verti-cal rows which are to be fitted with coins. At the top of the Title Text Strip, the item numbers are indicated. On every single coin in turn, the aisles as well as the stor-age locations are printed.

The red zone indicates when a process must be checked.

The upper Column Text Strip provides information on the production sector, thematerial group or the customer. Vertically,the FiFo row is labelled with the articlenumber and optionally with the articleshort text. This creates a better overviewand it can clearly be seen which articleit is. In this way, a precise attribution ispossible.

The FiFo Board is available in two heightswith a capacity of 20 coins or 40 coins.It is composed of modules. One moduleis 280 mm wide and has 5 rows. Withadditional modules and extension ele-ments, the system can be extended to any width.

In practice, the FiFo Board is used insmall-parts as well as pallet warehouses.It can for example be installed at the frontedge of the storage racks. In this way, thematerial handler has direct access andkeeps track of the goods stored.

The FiFo Board provides for transparencyin the warehouse. There are no specialexpert knowledge or further auxiliarymeans needed.

The law of the inclined planeThe force of gravity acting in the First-in-First-out order chute helps in strictly sticking to the planned sequence. The sequencer can only be equipped with FiFo pockets from behind - and only the first order in the front can be removed. This simple principle can contribute to increase the adherence to delivery dates.

What is in front will be worked offIndependent of IT systems, the FiFo Box gives administrative clerks an overview of current files. In the FiFo Pockets, the documents are within reach and quickly at hand at any time.

The inclined guideway of the box causes the pockets put in at the back to slide forwards automatically. Thus, the file that is to be dealt with first is always in the front.

The side cover reliably avoids that the FiFo Pockets are removed accidentally at the back of the box. The compact format of the FiFo Box ensures that it suits to any desk and is simply taken along to meetings.
