NETWORK ANALYZER – COPPER RELEASE 8.1 Motive Network Analyzer – Copper (NA-C) is a market proven solution for integrated line testing, diagnosis and optimization. NA-C helps service providers ensure digital subscriber lines (DSL) lines meet quality and stability requirements for the successful deployment of high-speed Internet and triple-play services. Pro-active management will enable you to detect problems before they impact your customers, or correct problems automatically through dynamic line reconfiguration. This release introduces management support for DSL Vectoring technology and re-transmission (RTX) protocol. NA-C also supports operational best practices throughout the access line lifecycle, including pre-qualification, provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and customer support. KEY BENEFITS Reduce DSL line operating expenses by up to 50 percent Accelerate troubleshooting and minimize service downtime Facilitate smooth ADSL2+, VDSL2, bonded DSL, & Vectoring upgrade Improve QoE through better line stability, quality of service, and pro-active detection of faults Offer the highest achievable service tier and increase ARPU through accurate knowledge of each line’s capabilities Support DSL Vectoring and introduction of RTX to optimize service quality Overview The global endeavor to provide consumers with 100 Mbps access is pushing DSL technology to its limit, thus making copper loop management increasingly complex and critical for managing the customer experience. As operators launch triple-play services in an effort to increase (average revenue per user (ARPU),the performance level required from DSL lines rises dramatically. Offering these services forces providers to operate lines close to their bit rate limit. In addition these real-time triple-play services demand greater line stability. While ADSL2+, VDSL2, and Vectoring technologies are able to deliver significantly more speed than current offerings, loops of inferior quality will result in unstable DSL connections, poor quality of experience (QoE) and a degraded customer experience. Thus integrated line testing becomes essential for copper networks. NA-C provides line testing, diagnosis and optimization capabilities for DSL networks powered by Alcatel-Lucent or any other provider of access network infrastructure. It allows service providers to manage DSL loop quality, helping to ensure that DSL loops meet quality and stability requirements for successful triple-play deployments. NA-C addresses the full life cycle of DSL lines, including line pre-qualification, optimization, proac- tive maintenance, customer support and troubleshooting, so loop quality problems can be avoided, anticipated or resolved quickly. In addition to supporting advanced integration with customer care applica- tions for enhanced help desk support, NA-C delivers POTS testing capabilities, enhances service quality, reduces service downtime and resolves problems faster to reduce operating expenditures (OPEX) by up to 50 percent. In addition, NA-C has been successfully integrated with third- party DSLAMs through the Multi-vendor Plug-in (MVP) Program. FEATURES Network-wide line quality assessment allows operator to assess network performance and intervene where necessary. Accurate line pre-qualification and upgrade qualification provide the means to offer the best service to the customer. Dynamic line management (DLM) enables automatic line reconfiguration ensuring best profile is assigned to the line in combination with its service. Fully supported for bonded DSL lines. Provide DLM on both RTX and Vectoring enabled lines. Support introduction of Vectoring within legacy networks by setting profile of non- vector capable (alien disturber) lines to minimize impact on the vectoring group. On-demand and routine line quality inspections give service providers the tools to remotely and quickly determine the cause of problems. Non-intrusive in-service monitoring enables detection of intermittent problems. Flexible reporting using business intelligence reporting tools (BIRT). Proactive network maintenance through binder-aware diagnosis, results in more effective prequalification and troubleshooting and allows proactive repair, which avoids excessive repair costs, helpdesk calls, dissatisfied customers and also reduces churn. Simplified diagnosis for Level 1 customer support. Single-Ended Line Testing (SELT) and Dual-Ended Line Testing (DELT) enable troubleshooting of connectivity problems. Identification of various connectivity problems, including detection and localization of open circuit and short circuit faults and powered down customer premise equipment (CPE) detection. Forced SELT allows fault localization while line in service. Narrowband line testing (NBLT) for POTS service troubleshooting, including metallic end line testing (MELT) for DSL line troubleshooting.

NETWORK ANALYZER – COPPER RELEASE 8.1

Motive Network Analyzer – Copper (NA-C) is a market proven solution for integrated line testing, diagnosis and optimization.
