Trip Facts

Highest peak in Japan 3,776 meters

Two days guided Tour with Fuji MountainGuides. Slept overnight in lodge, second daywas summit and descend

Trekking, not technical climb e.g. no use ofropes, harness, ice axe

Overnight stay in a mountain lodge.Sleeping area, toilets, warm fire, 2 hot meals:dinner first day and breakfast second day

Subashiri Route, Started at 5th station2,000m Slept in 7th station 3,000m

Pack light, toiletries, down jacket for warmnight and compact camera and water

Trekking gear :boots, trekking poles, baselayer and water proof outer layer. Gaiterswere useful for the descend

Questions &AnswersDo Mount Fuji have snow at the top? 

Was it crowded?

What about the weather?  Was it Cold?

No! this was off-season tour so snow was not there. Photos you seewith snow are taken during Jan/Feb.

No! this was an “off-season” guided tour not many people as the“season. It was crowded at the 7th station because all other hutswere closed

It was cloudy the first day, you could not see anything. Got colder atnight. Second day it was sunny, but windy the closed you get to thetop

Questions &AnswersHow much did it cost ? 

Was it tough? 

449$ including the guide, overnight stay, 2 meals , and transportfrom and to the pickup and drop off points.

Yes! The mountain is steep the closer you get to the top. Lots ofgravel and small stones. Gets tougher on the descend.

My Experince Do not over pack!

Stay hydrated and drink lots of water. Bring money to buy water and lunchbefore and after the trek.

Pack nuts and crackers, a quick snackon the go

Carry a compact camera. I took myGorPro and took nice videos.

Have short breaks to enjoy thescenery and take great photos.

Be prepared to slide/fall during thedescend. It's hard work
