1. SUMMARY OF EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES

This report describes the exploration activities carried out on Exploration Licence 23409 between the 15th of

October, 2003, and the 19th of March, 2009 (Figure 1). Exploration activities conducted during the life of

the tenement include a review of open file data and reports as well as an airborne magnetic and radiometric

survey that was flown between the 25th and 28th of September, 2008.

2. TENEMENT STATUS

Astro Diamond Mines NL (formerly Astro Mining N.L.) applied for Exploration Licence 23401 on the 2nd

of October, 2001 and the licence was granted on 15th of October, 2003. A waiver of reduction was granted

on the 24th of October, 2005, and the tenement underwent a compulsory 50% reduction on the 25th of

November, 2006. A second waiver of reduction was granted for this tenement on the 26th of October, 2007.

On the 21st of July, 2008, under transfer D92679, Quantum Resources Limited acquired an 80% interest in

the tenement. A second compulsory reduction was completed on the 15th of October, 2008. EL23409 was

surrendered on the 19th of March, 2009, following a review of tenement prospectivity that downgraded the

potential for this area to host base and precious metal deposits.

3. LOCATION AND ACCESS

Exploration Licence 23409 is situated in the Tanami Desert, approximately three hundred kilometres

(300kms) north of Alice Springs as measured along the Stuart Highway (Figure 2). From the Stuart

Highway, the tenement is serviced by unnamed roads and tracks. The access route and tenement are cut by

creeks and rivers that are completely dry for most of the year, but may flood during the wet season,

providing an obstacle to navigation. The tenement, being largely flat and sparsely vegetated, is easily

traversed with four wheel drive vehicles.

4. GEOLOGY

The project area is situated within Proterozoic Arunta Inlier on the southern margin of the North Australian

Craton. The Arunta Inlier shares its boundary with two significant gold hosting districts, the Tanami and the

Tennant Creek regions. The inlier comprises three east-west oriented tectonic provinces (Northern, Central

and Southern) that are separated by major faults and each having a distinct lithological, stratigraphy,

metamorphic and deformational history (Stewart, Shaw, and Black, 1984 and Shaw, Stewart, and Black,

1984). However, Collins and Shaw (1995) have revised this division and have suggested that no distinct

structural discontinuity exists between the North and Central Tectonic Provinces but the Redbank Thrust

Zone defines, at least in part, the northern limit of the Southern Tectonic Province.

The tenement is a part of the Northern Tectonic Province. The palaeoproterozoic succession of the Northern

Tectonic Province consists of aluminous and siliceous sediments and minor volcanics that have undergone at

least two regional metamorphic events (≥1820 Ma and 1780-1770Ma), commonly to low grade but locally in

some areas up to granulite facies (Zhao and Bennett, 1995 and references there in). Measured radiometric

ages from granitoid bodies suggest that magmatism was episodic throughout its geological history and

became more intense during 1770-1750Ma (Zhao and Bennett, 1995).

The Northern and Central Tectonic Provinces experienced major deformation during the Early and Late

Strangways Orogeny (Collins and Shaw, 1995) and underwent localized tectonism at ~1880Ma (Yuendumu

tectonic event) and 1820Ma (Stafford tectonic event). During the Early Strangways Orogeny (ca. 1780-

1770Ma) poly phase deformation was associated with west to southwest-vergent thrusting and the

development of north-south and southeast-oriented folds (Betts and Giles, 2005 and references there in).

During the Late Strangways Orogeny (ca. 1740-1715Ma), east-west to northeast-southwest crustal

shortening cause the formation of kilometre-scale sheath-like folds due to east-over-west shearing (Betts and

Giles, 2005 and references there in).

In the Southern Tectonic Province major tectonic events include the Argike tectonic event (~1680Ma) and

Chewings Orogeny (~1600Ma) (Collins and Shaw, 1995).

The post Mesoproterozoic tectonic history is characterized by several phases of uplift and isolated magmatic

episodes. Among them, the last significant deformational and metamorphic event was the intracratonic Alice

Springs Orogeny that was active between 400-300Ma.

4.1 LOCAL GEOLOGY

The underlying geology is almost totally obscured by sedimentary cover with only a few outcrops of

granitoid to the south (Figure 3). Geophysical or subsurface exploration techniques are required to

determine the nature of the underlying geology. The sedimentary cover is Quaternary in age, and comprises

sands, silts and gravels of fluvial origin. Red soils with ferruginous pisoliths are also common.

5. EXPLORATION

5.1 DATA REVIEW

Multi-client airborne magnetic data was used in conjunction with a review of open file exploration reports to

develop an appropriate exploration strategy. The multi client geophysical data was not of sufficient

resolution to identify exploration targets and a recommendation was made for a detailed magnetic and

radiometric survey to be flown over the Mount Peake project area.

5.2 GEOPHYSICS

Between the 25th and 28th of September, 2008, an airborne aeromagnetic and radiometric survey was flown

by Fugro Airborne Surveys ("Fugro") over the Mount Peake area (Figure 4). The survey comprised three (3)

areas, one of which is located within Exploration Licence 23409 (Figure 1). The three (3) survey areas

covered one thousand, five hundred and seven (1,507) line kilometres, two hundred and eleven (211) of

which were flown over EL23409. The survey was flown using a Cresco 750 aircraft that is owned and

operated by Fugro. Aeromagnetic data was collected using a Scintrex CS-2 Caesium Vapour Total Field

Magnetometer and a Billingsley TFM100-1E 3-axis Vector Magnetometer. Radiometric data was collected

using an Exploranium GR820 256 channel Gamma-ray spectrometer and an 8 Nal(TI) crystals 33.56L

downward looking gamma-ray detector.

The survey was flown at a nominal height of 50m along North-South traverse lines at 400m spacing.

Sampling intervals can be found in Table 2.

Processing of the aeromagnetic and radiometric data was conducted by Fugro Airborne Surveys and supplied

to Quantum Resources Limited. Results from the survey are located in Appendix A. Raw geophysical data

has been submitted to the Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources

(DRDPIFR) with this report.

The survey failed to identify any significant targets that warrant further exploration.

6. CONCLUSION

No significant exploration targets were identified following the completion of the geophysical survey. The

tenement is not considered likely to host mineralisation of sufficient size to warrant a stand-alone mining

operation. The tenement was recommended for relinquishment, and was surrendered on the 19th of March,

2009.
