and handicapped as Mr Powers is2 We know that the editor of the Herald will not have an oppo- rtunity I to support a loyal true Republican in this contest be ¬ cause such a Republican will not I enter the contest in opposition to Caleb Powers We do not know the editor of the Herald personally never had the pleasure of meeting him y We do not know what his poli tics are but there is one thing that The peo pie feel that the victory has no been thoroughly won until Pow LBers is electad to Congress We also know that he was wrongfully kept in jail for more than eight years and that he made a long- e and brave fight for his life and the vindication and honor of the Republican party of Kentucky You are wasting your time and work in trying to prejudice the people agains Mr Powers by stating erronneously that he go richwhile he was in jail Mr Powers necessarily expended over fifty thousand dollars in his brave fight for the people and himself during the eight years o his trials The teal truth ot the matter is that Mr Powers came out of jail in dabt so far as dollars Innd cents are concerned but rich in honor integrity and a spotless character and in brains he is millionaire He in the
