What is a Laptop?

A laptop, which also can be called a laptop computer or notebook computer, is a portable computer that can be easily carried and folded open and closed.

Open, it reveals a display monitor and a full-sized keyboard. Closed, it protects those components with a sturdy, protective, outside surface.

Laptops have: The same OS and software as on desktops.

Windows-based (PC) laptops use: Windows OS and Windows compatible applications

Apple (MAC) laptops use: Mac OS and Mac compatible applications

How are Laptops Used in Schools?

Laptops are usually: Stored in mobile carts Moved from class to class
